I wouldn't get crazy over one outing. Quintana is who he is- a mediocre pitcher who will cover a lot of innings and win about half his decisions. But I agree they need to move him before the baseball geniuses figure out what I have always known.

Did you hear Hahn talk about Quintana? Said that if he took what was offered he would be getting killed for such a bad return. If it blows up in his face he should be in trouble, but since this is a Reinsdorf team he probably has a contract for life.

But the great Rick Hahn has told us he is an Ace and no one has offered anything close to market value. Can't blame him (Hahn) for trying to pump up his asset, but you can blame him if his asset shows to be something less than promoted. I agree it's way too early and maybe Quintana steps up. I wonder though, without Sale here to sort of take the spotlight / pressure off of him...How Quintana will perform as the so-called Ace. Something to watch and see if Hahn played it smart or possibly over-played his hand.

Well, come on now. Hahn is hardly the only guy to say that about Quintana. And if we ignore his W/L records, it's hard to argue with such contention.

Asche, our DH, is 0-3 with three strikeouts. Taking the H out of DH. I think that May will join him with this stat line soon, so he won't be lonely at least.

Oh I get it,..yes Hahn's doing & saying exactly what he should. We'll never know exactly what offers were on the table this offseason, so Hahn is taking a gamble on Quintana's performance and health the first half of this season. If he get's both, then he should get close to what he is looking for in a trade. He should have already been traded IMO. We'll see.

You would have an argument if they weren't spending $13m on a 3rd basemen, $15m on a left fielder and $12m on a closer. This payroll indicates a desire to win at the MLB level this year.
