Lots of minor league talent.
Huge baseball market.
Very good stadium deal.
Championship pedigree.
Underwhelming success based on the "win every year" strategy that MLB has decided is not correct.
Demanding fan base.
Potential of a new downtown domed stadium after Guaranteed Rate is no longer viable.
Coming sale of the team to a deep pocketed owner.

It sucks now but the White Sox could be a force in the future.

Soon there will be waves of talent coming from the farm. Additionally, there will be extra assets for making awesome trades.

I never question ability of the Sock to develop pitching.

Sock minor league position players? Ah, default to bust and have them prove otherwise.

They rushed both Rodon and Fullmer through the system and the results have been 'meh'

The BP Cup has to be a strong selling point for potential free agents.

 Yeah. They rushed Fulmer so quickly that his next big league start will be his first. And after his eight innings of relief work for the Sox, I can hardly believe his arm is still attached.

You are quickly approaching Elmhurstian levels of stupidty with MANY of your posts.

They brought him up to bolster the bullpen of a 75 win team. Burning an arb year to boot. That's not smart you dumb shit.

Frank you're playing dumb.

Fulmer had 21 starts last year between AA and AAA. His ERA was over 4. What was the point of calling him up to MLB to get shelled?

Though, Caller Bob is being overdramatic.

You both are probably partially right.

Now see, Bob, that would have been a legit criticism. Saying the Sox "rushed him through the system" is flat our wrong and moronic. Do Simple Better.

21 starts in the minors and 8 innings of relief work at the big league level. Again I will say that I am surprised his arm is still attached with such a workload.

Fullmer could turn it around, but so far, the results have not been as desired. Nothing is controversial about that statement.

Elmhurst Bob saying that his eight relief appearances have been lackluster, and that a 23 year old pitcher might have a future ahead of him. Solid analysis.

He did not dominante AA. Typically a prospect dominates a level and is promoted. I don't why I'm trying to explain this to an autistic adult like Frank

Who said or implied that Fulmer dominated? You said he was rushed and I pointed out how wrong you were.

It's possible. What are the Sox fans expectations of when they'll be competitive again?

In prospect lingo, when they say a prospect is rushed, they mean promoted before full mastery at that level is acheived. Because Fulmer was promoted out of AA, without really dominating at that level, that is the argument for him being rushed. I'm not sure what is hard to understand about that.

Post subject:  Re: Are the White Sox the biggest sleeping giant in sports?

Fulmer made some alterations to his delivery in AA, strung together 5-6 great starts and was promoted. Then he sat around in the majors without a role, pitching once a week and looking like shit. Then he got sent down to AAA. shelled in his first start then finished with a couple very strong start. I don't think he was rushed, just handled very poorly. I also think he's not that good. maybe 4th starter or set up guy sort.

Sox are more like a dead beached whale, rotting away.

The biggest is probably the Knicks or the Maple Leafs, but the Sox could easily do a hell of a lot better than they're doing, sure.
