Early reports out of W-S are very positive on his catching too, Collins may be the stealth #1 prospect in the White Sox system right now.

He was considered the best college hitter his final season. So I don't think it's a surprise that he's having early success.

The big surprise would be his catching ability, as that was the knock on him coming out of college: ++Bat and ++Power for a catcher, but his athleticism and technique behind the plate was too rigid, and those tools were only + for both when profiled at first base.

If he's improved enough since being drafted to stick behind the dish as he makes his way through the professional ranks, yeah that is top prospect worthy.

Some are saying he looks much more dextrous and agile. The numbers so far are 4 CS to 1 SB... so I'm not surprised people are saying positive things.

Collins seems to be the only notable prospect performing well right now. A lot of these future "cornerstone" players aren't exactly tearing it up in the minors:

I am always skeptical of prospects until they are doing their work in MLB. However, 4 out of those 10 you listed posted excellent numbers. A fifth, Kopech, was incredibly impressive but for a HR.

It's best not to look at minor league stats to early or often.

I'll take a guy that's on pace to bat .400 with 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in 160 games.

That's an absurd take. 10 Ks in a start is not impressive? And Moncada is not doing well?

Try to ignore Giolito's stats for the next few months. Second half might be telling but they are trying to overhaul him as a pitcher.

Whoops! Looks like I misread some of those stats. Gotta stop drinking before class. Sorry, fellas.

Try to ignore all minor leaguers stats. We have a guy who they told to only throw fastballs for the first 3 innings because they want him to work on fastball command and his line looked terrible because of it. Stats aren't a true indicator of a minor leaguers ability because they are still developing certain aspects of their game.
