who is the first to go?

It has to be Robertson. Some team is going to want to get the jump on the others. My dark horse would be Holland. He's having a nice season, has playoff experience, has an easy contract to absorb and there are lots of teams who are looking for a more back end answer to their rotations.

Kahnle is the most valuable trade chip the Sox have, that includes Quintana.

This is also when I remind everyone that the Sox still haven't fully signalled that they are rebuilding.

I cannot believe this has happened but Cooper has worked another miracle in making Pelphry a trading chip.

No.

They aren't gonna trade Avi.

My guess is that they move at least two guys before July 1.

Supposedly the Nationals had a trade all but done for the Rockies' closer Greg Holland, but backed off at the last minute. Talk about a whoops. They've gotta be desperate at this point.

Kahnle is going to cost somebody an arm and a leg, as the Sox have control of him until 2021. Robertson and Swarzak are the bullpen guys to move.

No chance.

I don't believe Jorr is correct about Quintanas value but if he is Q should be the first to go. Obviously they need to capitalize on the Nationals catastrophic bullpen somehow or they should all be fired.

Why would the first place Rockies trade their closer?

I can't believe Robertson is still here. Frazier has to wait for Moustakas to get traded first.

You'd typically expect trades at the positions where your best prospects are playing. But their catchers and their 2Bs suck.

I can see them trading Abreu to the Yankees, as the Yankees are legit but they can't wait for Greg Bird and Chris Carter is three true outcomes and will be horrible in a playoff series. Take Bird back and maybe a guy like Tprreyes and some pitching prospects. But again, would the Yankees want Abreu, or Hosmer who is a free agent rental?

They might get something in A ball for a guy like Swarzak or Pelfrey, but that's just shuffling deck chairs.

good to see dolphin embracing the plan. First excitement over the draft and now excitement for the trade deadline.

Here are my shorthand, off the top of my head deals, sure to be laughed out of the room. :)

Robertson, Swarzak, and Kahnle to Nationals for Robles.
Avi and Abreu to Dodgers for Urias and Verdugo
Q, Frazier, and Jones to Red Sox for Devers

My interest in the draft is more for comedic purposes.

You know who had A Plan I would like to imitate, the Satan Elf Cashman.

Gammons said he sees no way the Sox get 4 players for Quintana...of course that daffy old codger preceded the Quintana discussion by saying the Cubs still had a superior farm system, so who knows what year he is living in.

I don't think Hahn has to trade him.

Pelfrey is a bum, Quintana should be moved first, then Robertson... I don't think they will move Avi or Abreu ..Nobody else has any value.

The Cubs do have a better farm.

No one else on the entire team has value?

Kahnle? Rodon? No one?

Kahnle is making chump change for 5 years, he's not going anywhere, Rodon's value has never been lower. No chance he's traded away now.

Schwarber, Jimenez over Moncada, Robert.

Kopech will bust out with arm injuries. Giolito is hit or miss... The Sox system ain't as deep as you think.

Every prospect is hit or miss. You have no idea about the future of injuries, and you only scratched the surface of the organization's prospects. You know it, and it's why you are so defensive about it.

Not a hill I'm dying on. Sox have a better farm system right now. Cubs have graduated so many players it would hard for them not to.

Defensive? Not at all, Epstein has an outstanding track record, Kenny doesn't.

Than who?

Superior implies the top couple in baseball. I'm not even sure they are a top 10 any more.

Love it.

I was joking yesterday when I said someone would bump up the quality of the Cub farm system because Schwarber returned to it.
