Seems like they could have gotten more for Kahnle. Roberston had value too so not a great haul IMO given they are giving up a cost controlled RP as well as a proven closer with 1 year left on his deal. |

Rutherford is about on the level of Robert as a prospect. Really should not have been able to land him after dealing the big pieces. |

Robertson isn't that good, he's due 13 million next year, kinda pricey for yanks to pay their 7th inning man 13 million. It's a good salary dump for the Sox but Kahnle is good, think they should have gotten more. Hahn fucked up by not moving Robertson 6 months ago. |

I really respect Hahn for being aggresive with the rebuild. Still hoping to see that Cubs/Sox World Series in my lifetime. |

Jerry is ecstatic that Robertson's $13M is gone next year. Yankees did very well to get Kahnle for eating that shit contract. |

My how things change |

good dolphin wrote: I'll have to search for it tomorrow but tough day for Kirkwood I have noticed far fewer crows flying around the north side the last week Your thesis was Robertson was hot property. All it took was including a superior reliever in Kahnle and a half season Frazier to get a prospect that's wasn't even close to the prices of last year's true premium relievers. |

Rutherford is almost exactly the type of prospect Frazier and Torres were a year ago. And let's get real, Kahnle is not Andrew Miller. |

At the time of the trade Cubs Yankees trade last year, Gleyber Torres was the #26 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. Rutherford is #30. I would say that price is pretty damn close. I would also say that gd needs to edit his post to "Rough days for Kirkwood." |

Hence why Hahn was forced to bundle him to get a return other than salary relief? Get real Frank Frittata |

Uh, you said; last year's true premium relievers. I hope you are smart enough to know that mid-season trades of relief pitchers who were as good as Champman & Miller are is an incredibly rarity. A return other than salary relief? They got the #30 prospect in baseball. The Cubs gave up the #26 prospect in baseball to get Chapman. I guess I need to take back my comment of "I hope you are smart enough..." because clearly you aren't. |

Hahn gets a lot of credit. For a while, it was looking like he jettisoned Sale and Eaton out of spite because of their attitudes. He got a great haul for those guys, but there was still a lot to do. With his recent trades, that lot to do has been largely accomplished. The Sox probably have the best or near best farm system with MANY legit prospects. I hope they get cooking soon, maybe two years, so that this town might have two competitive baseball teams. I'd love to see October baseball on both sides of town. |

Yes, good dolphin's thesis was Robertson was a member of the elite tier of relievers and would be highly desired on the trading market. He was so highly valued the Washington Nationals had no interest. The Yankees sought Robertson so badly they demanded 2 other pieces and will now have him pitch the 7th inning. |

I'm just happy those guys are finally gone. Rutherford will end up on a corner so his power has to really develop. Clarkin has had some arm problems but no surgeries. When right he has a pretty good sinker and a big curveball. |

More like the Sox packaged these guy to get themselves a better return. It is not uncommon for a closer from one team to be traded and then become a 7th or 8th inning guy.I hope you're trolling. or drunk. If not, you aren't making any sense. |

Everyone should look at Tito's numbers. He's also an elite defender, he's probably a better prospect than Rose, Basabe, Flete and Diaz combined. |
