4 innings pitched. 11 strikeouts. That projects to nearly 25 strikeouts per 9 innings.

Rodon > Vazquez > Buehrle

11 K's over 12 outs > 20 K's over 27 outs.

Did Rodon face more than 27 in 4 innings?

That'd be funny

Rodon might not be good. I'll have to look at the pitch stats, but it doesn't seem as though his control has gotten any better. Sure, your wipeout slider kinda works, but when you can't get more pitches over the plate, that pitch's value isn't being put to good use.

I have the same worry about Kopech, but he's still only 20. Rodon as a college pitcher shouldn't have this glaring of a problem this far into his career.

Rodon doesn't have to be good, he just has to be lucky.

If he had been drafted by another organization(one that doesn't ruin prospects) I think it's very possible he would be a dominant young arm. But he was rushed and never got to work on stuff like his changeup in the minors.

If I recall, already in 2013, Rodon was being bandied about as the next big thing. A can't miss phenom.

He was drafted in 2014, and the Cubs took Scwarber over him

Every move Theo has ever made has been great! Just like Kenny before and during 2005.

What?

Scwarber was a direct contributor to a World Series Win

That's a terrible way to evaluate a draft pick.

Rodon and Schwarber have both been bad MLB players but Rodon has been better and shows more potential going forward.

You're nuts.

A draft pick contributing heavily in the post season his rookie year and to a title in his 2nd year is very significant. At this point, it looks like both may not be everything they were cracked up to be. Right now, obviously Schwarber is ahead.

Its not a Darko case here where Schwarber just happened to be on a good team and Melo is clearly the better player.

It's not an exact parallel with Darko because Schwarber did contribute a little during the postseason, but it's close. Your only case that Schwarber is better relies on the greatness of his teammates, not him. If you look at their total body of work Rodon has been the better pick so far.

If you dont count the post season Schwarber work, Id agree.

1.178 OPS in 12 post season games including a World Series win.

What a stupid argument. My god.

My boy Carlos can't find the plate tho. Too many 3-0 counts.

I have no doubt that if the two were available in a draft knowing what we know today, that Rodon would STILL be picked ahead of Schwarber.

Rodon has a 0.00 career postseason ERA.

The bigger question is where would they go in the draft?
