I thought I'd start on a positive note with another good game for a Sox starter. You always just expect crap like this when they're out in Oakland though. Damn this sucks. Garland deserved that win.

goddam it. they never fuckin win in oakland. never. way to leave a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs twice guys.

and why the fuck is ozzie not using a defensive replacement in the 9th for Peter Pan in left field. What exactly is Brian Anderson's role on this team? Has he been demoted to bat boy? I thought that was going to be one of his roles this year. He has a legitimate shot at nailing that runner at home. shit at the very least, put dye in at right and slide mackowiak over to left.

no, fuck that. there's no way in HELL he should have not thrown bradley out...anyone else notice he pulled his hammy about 20 feet from home? hell, a throw that AJ can at least get a glove on and the game is over.

what a waste of a game this was. i saw this too many times last year. i remember vazquez's first start with the sox throwing a great then pollite giving up a 3 run bomb to mike sweeny in KC to lose the game. i remember saying, 'if they miss the playoffs, its games like this that we'll look back on and get pissed off about'. the same goes for tonite's "effort". such bullshit.

Yeah this one just sucked. Pods throw was inexcusable and he played that fly ball like a little pansy. Jenks shouldn't have gotten them into that situation in the first place but the plays were there to be made. I'm also surprised Ozzie didn't come back with MacDougal in the 9th since he was obviously throwing well. Too bad Garland doesn't get the win. He deserved it.

oh without question jenks sucked it up tonite. but that aside, there were still plays that championship teams make in order to win. im not just talking about the 9th inning...i mean stranding a runner at third with less than 2 outs twice.

arent i though? i mean...its kind of a no brainer. BA can play left, as can erstad, as can mackowiak. but no, he leaves peter pan in there. dye, mackowiak, and BA have the best arms among the outfielders on this team...so why were 2 of them sitting on the bench in a 1-0 game? espcially once that tying run got to second. the last time i checked, its not illegal to make a def. sub in the middle of an inning.

i know its only 8 (or so) games, but like i said...these are games that championship caliber teams come up with plays to get the win.

Is it just me, or did that fly ball bounce off of Pods' head?

Yeah it did. I replayed it a couple of times and it looked like it bounced off the back wall and then off his head. No reason to jump there but who am I to tell Peter Pan when he can and cannot fly?

That was a shitty loss. The last play was a tough catch. Maybe Anderson makes it. Anderson probably makes that throw at the plate to get that 1st run.

But guys, Pods has been playing well. He's getting on base, stealing, he got a home run to win the 1st A's game. I'm not gonna crucify him. He's helping more then hurting right now.

I would agree, and I am beginning to think that this whole "every other year" theory for the guy could be true. I'm not gonna complain about the quality of his recent play, however that catch needs to be made and SHOULD have been made in that situation.

Well, I will then. I'm pissed. I want blood.

I don't know what it is with me this year. I'm handling losses even worse this season than last season. I need help!

you're correct. pods has been hitting very well. that doesnt doest mean that in a 1-0 game, with the winning runs on base that he needs to be prancing around the outfield.

as i said, bradley pulled his hammy about 15-20 feet from the plate. if AJ can at least catch that throw, he's gonna get bradley out
