He won’t be ready for Opening Day. There is no set timetable for his return because he hasn’t even started throwing yet. It looks like this could be a long recovery process. Hopefully he can make it back by the start of the 2nd half.

Yea he's out of the picture entirely. Not counting on him every throwing another inning for the Sox.

TheoTheLess should have drafted Schwarber instead.

for shits sake can they just shelve him until he's fully healthy. then give him another shot to prove he isnt a colossal bust... how they handled him last year was idiotic

Since he only had two pitches to begin with, I would re brand him as a reliever. Maybe get some innings out of him. I see no reason why Rodon can't be a poor man's Brian Duesing.

If you took a pole of GM, professionals would still choose Rodon over Schwarber

This isn't news.

The timetable hasn't changed from what we were told after the surgery, which was a recovery anywhere from April to June.

No way you can claim that with any confidence right now.

The surgery was in September. The original time line was 6-8 months which meant he would be back in March-May. Now they are saying it’s definitely the latter and most likely longer. That is news.

The very end of September. June 1 is the timetable...I guess the last week of May if you want to be technical.

This is not news.

Am I missing something here? April 1 would have been a best case scenario. His recovery isn't the best case scenario but still within the normal scenario.

I think I even said that a few weeks ago when the signed Miguel Gonzalez.

Well Dr. Dolphin has spoken. He’ll be back before June 1. Good to know.
