Tough injury for anyone to recover from but especially tough for a non athlete. This really does suck.

Stop it. His estimated time of return is 6-8 months. He could be back for fall ball but definitely in time for spring training next year. He loses a year of development, which sucks.

He'll probably be back before Rodon.

Well the Adolfo injury seems extremely minor compared to what was initially reported, but Burger is probably in the same bin as Rodon. You can hope all you want but I would not count on him ever playing a big league inning until he's demonstrated he can.

I was told these injuries don't matter to hitters. No loss of power.

How does a 22 year old tear an AT? A 47 year old I could see...

Not enough stretching out in the warm up.

He'd be lucky to have the career of Herbert Perry!

Wait a minute. I thought Mangino and I were the only burger career enders around here.

Not according to Ryan Howard. He said he couldn't keep his weight on his planted foot.

Howard also tore his at the end of the 2011 season when he was 31 years old, and he already had close to 300 big league homers to his name. Little bit of a different scenario here.

His planted foot also weighed about 500 pounds.

Ruptured Achilles. Requires surgery. He’s out for a long long time.

It was questionable whether this kid was ever going to play third in the big leagues anyway.

Did he show great athleticism while ripping apart his leg?

Was it pronounced "Her-Bert Perry" or "A-Ber Perry"?

I think questionable was being VERY optimistic. I could see Kenny thinking this might happen, but I think most of us saw a DH being picked.

Yes

I believe my quote was "most of us" which was not the absolute of everyone.

Yeah....I guess you could say anyone technically could play any position. Burger would not play 3B well.
