Calling it now. The only thing in his way is the Sox not being over .500 and Giolito being punished for it in awards balloting. That or Chris Sale gets a lifetime achievement Cy that he "wraps up" in late-July before running a 5.50 ERA the rest of the year. |

3 runs over 6 innings isn't bad. It's not great but it keeps the team in the game. Lester would kill for outings like that. |

Yeah and I said he wouldn't even be on the team unless they had injuries that necessitated keeping him. I thought he might stay in the organization at AAA in case of an injury, but he's completely gone, which is fine by me. As far a Giolito is concerned, I saw him pitch against the Cubs in spring training on March 10th and came away impressed. I think he's a top of the rotation guy in the making. Not a Cy Young contender in 2018, but certainly a guy who should have a solid season and wins in double figues, even on a team that will likely lose 90 games. |
