This isn't helping his development. He's just getting fucking rocked almost every time out. Send him down immediately after the game.

Won't that undermine his chances of wining the 2018 Cy Young Award?

He will go 9-0 with a 0.80 after the AS break and win it. Will make every Chicagoan forget about Arrieta's 2015.

That's one ugly stat line today. Seems like he has not idea where the ball is going once he releases it.

After the last couple starts, I had thought he turned the corner. Apparently not. But with 20 some starts in MLB I'm not sure what can be accomplished in AAA that can't be accomplished in the Bigs. What are you afraid of, dropping out of the pennant race?

He can't find the zone whatsoever and is just getting murdered regularly. Has nothing to do with the team's record. How is this helping his development? This isn't a bad 5 game stretch. He's been an unmitigated disaster from Day One this year.

Something is wrong and it may be permanent. This is not the same pitcher at all that we saw last year who had looked like he had really turned the corner.

I'm of the opinion he's going to figure it out. If he doesn't, he doesn't. But I'd rather know at this level that he can't figure it out since he's had 20 starts since Sept of 2016. Send him down and you might get a false positive.

I wouldn't mind sending him down, but who is even left to call up?

Doesn’t matter to me. Bring back the corpse of Miguel Gonzalez.

I think they’re ruining him the longer they allow this to continue.

Completely agree. Let he go down and gain some confidence and work on a few things.

FF is right. Not for the rest of the season, but he could use to go down for three or four starts to get his head straight and build up some confidence.

How many times does a guy need to "build up his confidence?" Nationals said the same thing two years ago and then traded him to the White Sox when that didn't work.

He either is a Major League pitcher or he isn't. Sending him down isn't going to change that.

Maybe his last MLB start

Covey was sent down. Since bringing him back up he has been solid.

Sending Covey down makes no sense. He has been solid since coming back up.

Giolito needs to get right. Let him go figure it out or the team figure out he's a AAAA guy.

It could change it if he needs to work on a flaw in his mechanics they've recognized (or any other flaw....physical or otherwise). Not sure if they have anything to lose by doing it.

as #55 would've said, "stop yourself!"

Dude is brutal and no amount of adjustment is going to fix that.

coop is senile. Game passed him by a long time ago. stand tall stay back and don't hurt your neck watching it fly out of the park.

His track record speaks for itself. They need a hitting coach Coop. That's been the issue for a decade

Maybe he can go on the DL with the flu to get a mental break for a week then.

Steve Stone zinged him on that last Sunday....

Lashing out at the Cubs is not going to change the fact that Giolito is a bust.

Our rebuild is over and not much to complain about except for a couple under performers. You should be so lucky when the White Sox rebuild is over.

Incorrectly calling out a twenty three year old pitcher as a bust is not going to help your underachieving team.

Watching some of the highlights, he(Giolotio) isn't a mid 90's guy with the FB anymore. He sits 92-93 but his problem is there isn't much deception in the delivery and he is putting it right over the plate. He was a top prospect in baseball at one point throwing upper 90s, but I think that stuff is just gone.

Post subject:  Re: Send Giolito Down

I think it’s in his head. If it were mechanical he would be considtently missing the same way but he’s literally all over the place. He’ll miss a fb up on his armside then he’ll dirt one on his gloveside. He’ll cast a cb then he’ll overcook one. Once he gets over what ever the hell is going on in his head he’ll start pitching with the same conviction he had last season.

He'll get it figured out like Steve Blass and Rick Ankiel did. They could use a CF'er anyway.
