Sellers. Probably the bullpen guys and Shields. Abreu would bring back some good prospects, but the Sox seem to like his leadership for the young players. He can be the veteran bat on a team that hopefully will be contending for a pennant in 3 years. |

I think they remain sellers but don't get a lot of interest other than bring your dog to the park night. |

Sell Soria. Buy Machado. Win 2019 World Series. |

Sounds like we are a year early. Thanks for a real answer. I am not sure I want to be a year early though. I feel patience and cook the stew a bit longer will give sustained success. I really don't want to win one WS and fade away. |

I could see them being a buyer in the situation a team is looking to lose a bad contract and would be willing to attach a legit prospect to a team willing to take it on. However, that is usually an off season maneuver. That is essentially what they did in getting Soria and Avilan and now the Soria lottery ticket looks like it can be cashed. |

They will cash in on Shields as well. He'd be a nice replacement for Yu. |

Joakim Soria is murdering right-handed hitters this year with a .430 OPS allowed. That actually ranks higher than Josh Hader (.440). And he’s creeping up on Aroldis Chapman (.414). They better get something nice in exchange. |

I can't see them being buyers? First of all Reinny will not want to add payroll because he is a cheap ass. Next, to what end do they add guys in a lost season. It isn't like they are going to find anyone who is going to help them get into the play-offs next season so why do it? I think that they will definitely trade Avi for prospects. Shields will go for anything that they can get. Abreu is probably stuck on this loser science experiment gone bad. No, the Sox made their bed and now are going to have to lie in it. Maybe if by magic at least half of these prospects come through in 3 or so years, they can think about making the play-offs. The crime of it, though, is that this all was nothing but a waste of time and a way for Reinny to take more money with him when he croaks. |
