Was reading an article on Yadi's dream to be named player-manager for the Cardinals and found this little blurb in the article... Quote: The odds of the Cardinals naming Molina a player-manager are slim to none. The game hasn't had a full-time player manager since Pete Rose during the mid-80s. The Chicago White Sox (with Paul Konerko) and Colorado Rockies (with Jason Giambi) have considered such appointments in the recent past, however. The Cardinals, in all likelihood, won't weigh the merits of such a move. Did the Sox seriously consider Konerko? I guess I dont seem to recall that |

He may have even floated it to Konerko who wasn't interested. |

What about Pierzysnki managing? He's had an ambassador role for the White Sox. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/pierz ... -263268214 I think hard-core White Sox fans and the Poles would like the idea. One of my all-time favorite players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljUP6qPyHa4 |

The last player manager in AL was Don Kessinger for your 1979 White Sox. |

I guess I dont seem to recall that I think that Konerko might come back to baseball once his kids are out of high school and either in college or the pros. I always thought that Paulie would make a very good hitting instructor if not a manager. |
