Keep him down.

Does more harm than good to keep him down until May next year.

You can't keep him down much longer.

He's only played 25 games in AAA but he has dominated.

Might as well wait until the trade deadline and if they move somebody, Eloy coming up can be the corresponding roster move.

Or bring him up August 7th to face the Yankees.

Why not? They are going to blow the 2019 first round pick regardless.

I remember when the Cubs had these problems. Seems like forever ago.

I don't recall the majority of the Cub's fan base having 'downs.

So what if they did? Would you appreciate them less?

Pretty shitty thing to say Bob.

You recall incorrectly

Props to you and leash for jumping in on this topic though. I wouldn't expect Japanese folks to be eager to discuss hiroshima.

Your response indicates the opposite amigo.

Thanks for Eloy and Cease though.

Frank Thomas came up on August 1 after destroying Southern League pitching at Birmingham (.323/.487/.581) in his age 22 season. Eloy is a full year younger, but the only thing lacking are the walks.

I would bring him up now, but I think they will wait until September 1.

He'll be lucky to have the career of Glenallen Hill.

Is there anything to his needing defense work? Also, anyone have any good reason not to bring him up before Sept? Sure I would like to see him but I don't get the had wringing why he is being brought up right this second.

Two months of pain will be well worth it in six years when they are finding impossible to sign him to an $800 million contract

Unless I missed it I also have not heard any agent or union screaming yet either.

It's fans who are being impatient.

Is there a reason to keep him down?

No? I have only heard defense like once.

Post subject:  Re: The Eloy Situation

The White Sox defense is fucking terrible. Leury sucks in CF (passable in LF or RF), DelMonico is terrible, Engel started out horribly but has been better since mid-May, Tim Anderson can't throw, and Avi is serviceable at best with the glove. Eloy could only be an upgrade defensively and even if he isn't, he might have a higher OPS than Anderson and Engel combined.

Extra year of control during a competitive season.

so in 2019 barry rozner will rip the whitesox management for waiting until May to call him up.... right? or maybe not because no one cares about whitesox baseball. If he is a star keep him down if it buys another year of control... should work on finding a third garcia for the all garcia outfield
