HR or Nothing...

Is that a bad thing ? No, when they're hitting the way we hope, they can put up big numbers. It would be nice to manufacture a run or two every now and then.

No kidding. I haven't checked but despite them being last in batting average, the Sox have to be top 4 in home runs. I'm pretty sure there have only been 3 or 4 games of the 25 played where they haven't hit at least one homer.

You can't expect much when AJ Pierzynski is your #3 hitter. I will NEVER understand the logic of putting someone in the most important spot in the lineup based solely on which side of the plate he hits from.

ozzie is clearly pulling at straws with this offense, thats why you saw AJ there yesterday. dye and erstad have been the only ones that have been hitting fairly consistently over the last 10 games. they've just had nobody on to drive in.

it pisses me off. this team is going down the shitter and its Ffucking may 3rd.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic about the season just yet, Frank. The one thing that the Sox do have going for them is the very point you brought up in your post: it is only May 3rd.

Now as far as the HR or Nothing tendency that this team is showcasing recently... I absolutely hate it. While they may rank #7 in the league for total HR's, that really isn't going to do you any damned good when they are all solo shots.

I'm still hopeful, but this is a .500 team (or below) since the All Star Break. We're even getting good pitching, and we can't win consistently.

Is it too early too panic ? Not in this division, where they could be 7 or 8 games back by early next week if they don't start hitting.
