Are you more impressed by his 15% strikeout rate or his 5 XBH in 5 games? |

I've never been worried about guys striking out if they are not swinging at bad pitches. He plainly is just picking up the ball early and moving the bat to where it is going to be. That, to me, is the key to hitting. Keeping your hands and arms loose and picking up the ball early. It is easier said than done. Ted Williams was the best guy I have ever seen at doing that. |

That homer yesterday was on an 0-2 letter-high 95 mph fastball. Some kind of bat speed. |

fuck all these newfangled stats... You know what Yoan's doing differently this year? he's going up there and making himself dangerous at the plate. Now all of a sudden pitchers know that he's liable to hit the ball hard somewhere where they ain't. Clearly this kind of crushing psychological blow puts fear into the heart of pitchers and that makes them.more prone to making mistskes, which Yoan is waiting for with a wicked grin on his face. And you know what makes someone dangerous? TWTW aka THE WILL TO WIN. And until they come.up with a stat that can.quantify that (xCREDE++ ?) I say to hell with these bullshit stats! |
