SMH. Tim Anderson is the best hitter in Chicago. Rooting for the kid. I like his mojo. Sox have to be happy about Moncada but I would pump the brakes a little and see what happens when they adjust to him. |

It does seem odd that so many are talking up Moncada when Anderson is the guy to be excited about. He seems to have built off last year and it appears that he is the real deal offensively. Moncada is doing well in a much smaller sample size. While there is clearly hope he is figuring it out, it could easily be a mirage. |

Looking at him last year, I had no doubts he'd be good. I have the same confidence in Jimenez. I can see why people were talking the kid up because he is totally balanced at the plate and has already a good notion of the strike zone. As for Anderson, I think that some people just did not give the guy any time to develop as a player. Fans that were way too disappointed when a very young kid didn't immediately figure things up as a player. The same with MOncada. People, including several on this site called him a failure at 22-23 years old? Ridiculous. There are kids that age in A ball in the minors and a guy like Moncada facing really good pitching from veterans is a "Failure"? Ridiculous. |

I'm impressed with both, but Moncada is a bigger surprise so there's more attention to his start. Anderson at least put together solid second halves the past 2 seasons so this isn't unprecedented for him. |
