that in year three of a total tear-down rebuild there is nobody more deserving of innings than the likes of Ross Detwiler, Manny Banuelos, Odrisamer Despaigne and Dylan Covey. Really sad state of affairs that there is nobody with any potential worth getting a look at, its just these bums. It'd be one thing if this was the first year, but the fact they've had shit torn down for almost thirty-six months and the best they can do is this lot...what's even the point? Is seriously nobody they drafted three years ago even close to ML ready? |

Hire Dusty. he'll keep Giolito in there for 120-130 pitches, which should get him through 6 on a rough day. Covey will manage like 6.2IP 4-5ER and 8-12K more often than not. And, of course, we'll never forget what Ivan has done for us, dude. |

Three fairly well regarded, young starting pitchers were unavailable this year. I doubt there are many teams out there who can dip into their 4th best SP prospect for MLB help. The landscape will look entirely different next year with Kopech and Rodon returning, Dunning re establishing himself at AAA and Stiever fast rising at AA |

No, I wouldn't and Rodon won't be back until June anyway. Anything you get out of him is gravy because if the Sox count on him for ANYTHING in 2020 they are even stupider than I presume they already are. |

You are putting your trust in equally bad bets coming off surgery in Kopech and Cease on innings limitations. 2021 is the year to have high expectations. |

I trust Kopech, Dunning, and Cease way more than a guy who hasn't made more than 20 starts since 2016. Rodon has 90 career starts over 5 seasons. I am confident that at least two of those three will have more then 90 starts when we look at the stat sheet in 2024/2025. By contrast, Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez have 61 and 62 starts respectively over just the last two seasons. (and Lopez will probably get one or two more this year) I hope I am as wrong with Rodon as I was with Timmay. I just don't see it though. Depending on Rodon for anything except IL stints and frustration is utterly foolish at this point. |

Not if the White Sox do the right thing and sign 2-3 good pitchers. The line-up next year will be one of the best in all of baseball and they have a makings of a good back end of their bull-pen. YOu cannot count on the guys on their pitching roster to be good beyond Giolitto and Lopez. They need a couple of professional starting pitchers and that is going to require money from Miserdorf. |

Lopez did not have good numbers this year, but he has a chance to reach double digits in wins-- something Rodon has never done. Lopez simply being available to take the ball every 5th game automatically makes him better than Rodon as things stand now. |

2020 being a blown year is infuriating. I would trust Rodon as a 5th starter, but hopes for him were higher. A solid 3 with a potential to be a low 2. |

Young pitchers have hit their innings limits, so even if you wanted to bring guys up from Birmingham, you really cannot. Charlotte's starting pitching depth was crap all year. |

I think that they go to camp next season with two decent to good starting pitchers and they are Giolitto and Lopez. THe rest of the people in their farm system are either unproven or bad. Starting pitching for the White Sox right now is a weakness over-all no matter how you look at it. |

Why would it be a "blown year"? As for Rodon, it is all dependent on his arm and whether he is sound. If his arm is sound, He will be a good middle of the rotation starting pitcher. If his arm isn't sound he will go to the scrap heap or try to make a career for himself as a relief pitcher. I do not see him as a guy who can make it as a relief pitcher. |

Nas wrote: I still believe in Lopez. That's elite stuff. It is and so is Rodon's I believe. I really am rooting for Rodon because I love his mechanics and the movement he gets on his pitches. And he has had a rough go with his injuries thus far. Throwing the injury stuff aside, both Rodon and Lopez need to do what Giolitto has learned to do and that is ADAPT when they don't have their good stuff or can't control it. This is the difference, I believe, between a #1 or #2 guy and a back of the rotation guy. |

Nas wrote: I still believe in Lopez. That's elite stuff. Yup. Same thing with Giolito, it just takes time to refine. Cease could have a similarly maddening arc. Assuming Kopech makes a full recovery he is luckily good enough with pure stuff to just blast Caller Bobs away. I dont worry about him really at all. Rodon has to either go to the bullpen or the glue factory. I've been saying this since before even this injury, the guy is toasted. I think he can be a lights out closer if they handle him right. Need something to make up for the fact that Burdi looks like he's in that 20% of guys who never make it back from tommy john. |

These 4 starters (Giolioto/Lopez/Cease/Kopech) are highly regarded. Doesn't mean any will become consistent high-end starters, but it's a great starting point. |
