Ricky has to be thinking "not this shit again".

But yeah I don't think it will really happen either.

Who would want Madden? I don't like Renteria as the manager but hell with Madden. He's weird. Get a young guy in there. I think Vizquel would be a good choice. The guy is a legend with the Hispanic guys and has won a lot in his baseball career. I would also let him choose his own Pitching coach. A lost has been said about Cooper being done. I don't know if he is but let Vizquel assess it himself and hire the guy he wants.

I figured A.J. Pierzynski had a contract in Jerry Reinsdorf's desk to manage the White Sox whenever he felt ready.

I thought this as first but Maddon has managed before and has an agent. Jerry doesn't hire many with both of those boxes checked.

Nope. Rick Hahn thinks Renteria is doing a great job and is the right person for the next stage of the rebuild.

I am doubtful that Renteria gets fired also. Clearly most of the make-up of the team is going to be minorities and Renteria is good with these guys. And while I think he is a lousy game day manager, having a good clubhouse is also very important. I guess he deserves to stay at least for another year and see what next year brings with the guys that they bring up and the signings that they make.

This offseason is where Hahn needs to step up and Reinsdork needs to give him the money that he is going to need to get this team into the play-offs. THis season was fun watching for what it was but next year is different. They need to add two good starting pitchers and a couple of decent pen guys. Along with a left handed hitting right fielder. No half measure.

They are pretty much in the situation that Houston was in awhile ago. They need to follow that prescription to the play-offs and a couple of WOrld Series wins.

I'll say the same thing I said after the Cubs won the world series in 2016. I'm glad Joe Maddon is not the manager of my baseball team.

Jerry would be dumb enough to think hiring Maddon would be a good PR move and worth the money....I hope that never happens.

Renteria won't get fired because they won't be competing next year.

Personally I'd like them to have Vizquel on the bench next year and then take over for Ricky in 2021 but I don't think it happens.

I dunno maddon on a two year deal can help a team like the sox. Then you launch him when his shit gets old.

Maddon is a 5 year half life kinda guy.

Rick Hahn has already stated that he thinks Ricky is the guy for the next stage. Ricky is on that lifetime contract track with JR.

I'll say this, the Sox were winning series down the stretch with guys like Ross Detwieler and Manny Banuelos making starts, and Ryan Cordell and Ryan Goins playing in the field. The team absolutely did not quick on Ricky. The Sox basically assured Cleveland did not make the Wild Card. They played hard down the stretch day in and day out.

The same cannot be said of Theo's non-playoff teams.

The Sox went 12-14 in September.

The 2014 Cubs went 12-13.

Based on what? The White Sox make some strange decisions. At least Ventura had some great years as a player. What does JR owe Ricky?

That would be a fine idea. I wonder though if Rickey would not see through it and regard Vizquel as a threat?

Maddon would have value for developing players, but he wouldn't wait 2 years to destroy the bullpen. That skill would start immediately. No thanks. No Maddon.

An MLB manager should be a non-factor. I'll take Ricky over Maddon.
