As we enter 2020, the cubs window appears to be closing. During the last 5 seasons the Cubs won 471 regular season games and 19 playoff games.

Will you consider the Sox rebuild a failure if you can’t beat those numbers in the next 5 years.

Our window will be far superior.

I give a shit about the Cubs. Mainly because their fans are so stupid.

It’ll be the best window...the best window ever.

Not about the cubs. It’s about the white Sox and beating two specific win totals.

Or should I assume you are taking the under.

I think you're focusing on the wrong stats. If those 471 regular season wins and 19 playoff wins meant three straight trips to the ALCS and a World Series title, I would absolutely be happy with it. If those wins meant playoff appearances and no trip past the ALCS, I would not be happy with it. I think it's really unreasonable to expect any more success than the Cubs' success. The MLB is much closer to the NHL than it is to the NBA, in terms of talent rising to the top during the playoffs.

We’ll only need four years to beat those numbers

Spot on.

Team has never made the playoffs in consecutive seasons.

Hell if they do that I'll probably be happy.

Win 11 games in a single postseason again. Preferably twice. Do that, and nothing else matters.

That's really all that matters. I would rather be a fan of the Marlins from 1997 through 2003 than a fan of the Braves when they were stacking up all those division titles. World Series titles trump all.

I have no regrets on the cubs run. It could have been better, but is still ahead of the Dodgers.

Good luck on improving on 2005. Even if you do get those 11. They aren’t going to come in a row... what a run that was.

Why would anyone care about regular season wins? Save that for people who want to have movies made about them.

Because it's all Cubs fans have had over the past two seasons.

That is true and this stuff is happening now out here with the Dodgers and their fans. There area lot of really pissed off Dodger fans out here. This last season was really hard on them and now they are kind of stuck payroll wise and don't want to give up their prized minor league guys.

Regular season? No...as long as they're making the playoffs consistently, I'm going to be ecstatic. Win your division. Make the playoffs. The fucking Cardinals did it when they won 83 games in a season.

Playoff wins? whatever...I'm more interested in them losing fewer than the 27 the Cubs lost over that stretch...and a few more 11 win playoff seasons 8)

You fucking clowns kill me, I don't watch the bulls or Sox because they suck, if you can't field a team that wins more than it loses .. they're unwatchable and won't sniff the playoffs. Regular season wins most certainly matter.

Yet, you watched the Cubs who lost more than they won in the regular season for the vast majority of your life.

You should kill yourself, fucking clown.

The year after 2005, the White Sox won 90 games and missed the playoffs. Is that season viewed as a success because of regular season wins?
