No better option that I can think of, maybe more than any team in the majors Sox radio should be A Local Guy. |

Would he even want it? The dude has lived in Tampa for well over a decade now....it would be pretty difficult to come back to at this point. I completely agree he has to be your first call. |

I think they still asking Minnie Minoso if he want to suit up. Like yelling down there through the grave. "Hey Minnie! You hear me through that dirt?" Or if he was cremated, they out there talking to the wind, looking for Minnie. See a leaf flying. "Hey Minnie! That you, brother?" |

I'm sure the Sox are his dream job and at 56, this opportunity isn't coming around again. Also, with Stone's age, there is a very clear path for him to the TV booth. I think his kids are out of high school. I seem to recall him spending a lot of time back in Chicago when he is free as well. On the other hand, how do you reject a job for life where you work a few hours each night and can spend your days on beautiful beaches with year round golf. Sure there is no passion for baseball but there are also not expectations with the job. Cash your check and enjoy a life most people dream of in retirement. Also, Tampa/St. Pete is a huge chicago retirement city, especially for a south side irish guy like him. |
