I think this is twice that they called it and could have played. Then the one time they didn't call it early was the Yankee series. They waited until 9:30 and then called it.
I think Bosard has influence based on radar. But yeah, today is the 2nd time they've been wrong. It didn't rain by me from 7-10. Couldn't have been much different at the Cell.
You know what sucks? We were facing the worst starting pitcher in MLB today. Guy was 0-7 with a 7.2 ERA. Tampa Bay is skipping him tomorrow. So if we don't face him in that make up game and lose that could be looked at as a guarentee win that we missed because we called a game where it didn't rain.
This is becoming odd. I don't get it. The rain had moved out of the area by 8:00 PM so they could have realistically gotten the game started by 8:30ish. Now, they have like 4 double hitters in the summer, and, as you mentioned, they passed on the chance to pitch vs a bad pitcher. Kazmir tomorrow will beat them if he's on his game.
I don't know why they have this knee jerk reaction to cancel a game if it's rained around gametime.
