I'm saying that the only people that feel confident about a team's winning record on April 12th are fans of that team.

The Cincinnati Reds are 5-2. I hope they don't print their playoff tickets quite yet.

Look...I had the Sox as an 85 win team last year I think. I have them near the same for this season. I think that puts them as the runner up or so for a Wild Card spot...but I'm not down on them.

My point is that Frank doesn't think a 4-2 start is good. He thinks the White Sox' 4-2 start is good.

And that is a bad thought.

I'll be expecting the other shoe to drop on the Sox for a couple months. The 4 and 5 in the rotation is guilty until proven innocent and there are still some really garbage players seeing a lot of playing time.

Not at all. The Sox have had very bad Aprils the last few seasons. Getting off to at least a decent start is absolutely vital if they want to make any noise in the Division/Wild Card race. They started 0-4 last year, and their high water mark was an even .500

This has been good to see.

I understand how the start affects your feelings of hope toward the team.

But the start does not affect the actual team. Check the standings right now. There are teams above .500 that will finish far below .500. There are teams below .500 that will finish above.

Being 5-2 on April 13th is the same as being 18-22 in Late May but on a 5-2 stretch over the last 7 games.

The Cubs are 6-1 right now. I'm not expecting 139 wins this season though.

Whoa that thing. Based on most predictions for the White Sox...it is likely they go .500 the rest of the way and finish 83-79.

Having see the White Sox play just awful baseball the last two/three Aprils, I believe this start absolutely helps them.

Alright. I don't want to shit on your team. I wish the White Sox well, in general. I know it is more fun to be a fan of a team that is playing well. And hope springs eternal, etc etc.
