You have 37 year old DH who is OPSing about .600... I think that's a replaceable spot.

This is also a guy who has a history of bombing the ball throughout his career. You don't just arbitrarily replace those kinds of guys. YOu give them some time to work things out for themselves. The other thing is that there is team chemistry and EE is a mentor to Eloy. Look. Vaughn will come up this year but EE will be the DH until he proves that he isn't able to hit anymore. Hell, I think that Mercedes should have been DH before they ever signed EE so we all have "favorites".

Could be. Nice time to find out in this silly season. Darvish looks better in the 7th . NIce hit by Mazara in the 7th.

Is there any way he would be able to hold down the RF position at an acceptable level for a year or two. He looked pretty bad at 3B in the spring but it shows that he is willing to try something new to get to MLB.

I don't see any other immediate path. Abreu is making the case with his glove that he deserves to be out there defensively. I suppose you just put him at DH but that sure seems like a waste of half his talents.

My guess is that he is going to start in AA next year any way. They will be open to moving him along quickly but he will have to prove his way into promotions.

Vaughn is going to get the Eloy/Robert treatment in spring this year by signing something that keeps him team controlled for 8 years or something so he can start in Chicago come April.

He couldn't crack an .800 ops in A ball last year. I think GD is absolutely right on this one.
