Mize threw a no hitter through 5, but they yanked him pretty early on in the sixth after he gave up a double down the line. Had less than 80 pitches. They are really taking their time with him -- I guess there's no reason to push this season though. Anderson nearly hit another HR against the Tigers in the 4th but was about three feet short. |

A win is a win at the end of the day, I suppose. Didn't like how wild Giolito was looking at the end of his pitching, but I give him credit for trying to fight through it. |

Eloy knocked that one out on a pitch that was chest high. That was a "fuck you" swing there from him. |

Shame Abreu lost the hit streak - what was it, 22 games? |

After seeing bullpenners Colome and Codi Heuer's pitches dancing all over the place today, I again think there is no ceiling to the possibilities this year. |

Side not - man are Cubs Fans bitter about the Sox being good again and them slipping down, down. When I am out and hear a conversation strike up about these White Sox, you can almost hear the groan! Personally, I think the Sox should make a postseason move for Baez. He would fit in perfect in their lineup and he would snap right back to what he was before rampant, unchecked Cubness killed him this year. |

I guess he could take Yolmer's spot as the utility infielder, but that's about the only job he'd find on this team. |

He would be re-born at Comiskey at a home-run hitting park, getting huge protection pretty much anywhere in the lineup, and with the young, fun, talented group they have there. From 2019 wrote: Park Factor - runs
1 Coors Field 2 Great American Ball Park (Reds) 3 Oriole Park at Camden Yards 4 PNC Park 5 Comerica Park (Tigers) 26. Chase Field 27. Wrigley Field 28. Oakland Coliseum 29. Yankee Stadium 30. Target Field Yankee Stadium? For real? We'll chalk that up to sample size. It was sixth last year and is generally always in the top half. Park Factor - home runs 1 Rogers Centre 2 Oriole Park at Camden Yards 3 Angel Stadium 4 Great American Ball Park 5 Guaranteed Rate Field Again, notice the absence of Coors Field (it's sixth). It's much more a hit parade type of hitter paradise than a home run park. 26. Busch Stadium 27. Target Field (Twins) 28. Marlins Park 29. Wrigley Field 30. Oracle Park What's interesting to me here is the Twins and Cubs hitting so many home runs in spite of their home parks. The Cubs are second in the NL with 102 homers. |

Lopez scoreless through 2. By no means is he fixed or do I want him taking a big game, but at least he might give the bullpen some rest tonight during this 17 game stretch |

Had the Sox and the over tonight. You know it's a good day when the Sox hit the over all by themselves. |
