Stiever takes the bump tonight, Keuchel tomorrow, and while not yet announced, you have to figure Cease or Dunning get Sunday as they re-order the rotation

I hope there is no hangover from the celebration yesterday that didn't happen, of course, because of MLB policy.

Step on the gas and clinch the division.

Champagne celebrations in MLB are maybe the dumbest celebration in all of sports. Add to the fact more than half of baseball makes the playoff now, it should be more embarrassing not to make it than an accomplishment to make it.

Hockey always got this right with no celebrations until the Cup. They don't even touch the Prince of Wales Trophy or Campbell Bowl

Regardless of the changes I'm fine with Jose Abreu celebrating making it to the playoffs. Well earned. I get the sense the team knows their work is not done

Celebrate it or not, just stay hungry and looking to eat.

Perhaps the Sox should have a scheduled a day to celebrate like we saw in 2016.

Evan Marshall to 10 day IL. Expected back for Cub series but until they they called up 2020 1st round pick Garrett Crochett. My guess is they will give him a look in the pen and strongly consider having him on the postseason roster over Cishek

Bummer and Rodon also likely back before end of regular season

Bringing up a 2020 1st round pick is a win now move and is something I love seeing here. None of that service time bullshit with that move.

They can hold him down the first six weeks next year to make up for the time if he is good this year. Risk free look.

Of note, he is the first player of the 2020 draft class to receive a call-up.

He was already #4 in the Sox system and tonight the #6 prospect in our system gets the start

Holy shit do I love prospects who are ready to deliver

Even better, they cancel the noise of the "what ifs" that Rodon and Fulmer became.

What's the book on this Stiever guy? Are we actually expecting him to develop into a starter?

2018 draft pick out of IU (Barf on that one)

#6 prospect in the org, has impressed at every level, throws strikes, and projects to be a starter.

He literally last pitched in high A last year and made his MLB debut Sunday after never having pitched in AA or AAA and looked at home once he got out of the first. I think he retired his last 9 batters in a row before he was taken out as they had him on a strict pitch count.

Crochet throwing 101.

Waves

Bring up Vaughn. He'll probably hit it 620 ft.

That 100 mph from Crochet seems to jump out of the delivery. Comes on the batter quick.

Can’t win in the playoffs if Robert and Moncada are hitting like this.

Hopefully its one game. They are hung over. TA couldn’t even get out of bed. I still believe this team is young, dumb, and hungry enough to make a deep run.

Except for the 3 out of 4 against Minnesota? 23 w & 7 l in the last 30. That’s a pretty decent sample size.

Robert chasing that 1st pitch a foot outside is a habit worth ripping him for.

I watched the game on yahoo sports and all you see it the pitch locations, red or green. He struck out every time low and away on a slider just out of the strike zone.

He needs to learn to beat his own trends. They are steady feeding him low and away.

Crochet is a weapon.

It’s probably bc the Sox were trash while he was in Cleveland, but I find myself disliking Trevor Bauer more now than when he was in the division.

I don't like his face. He's a scowling douche. I want to punch him in his intake hole.

Bauer's a pretty funny, insightful interview. Have always been a fan. I feel the opposite about the Verlander.

The league does seem to have figured Robert out.

I’ve heard him a few times on some barstool stuff and agree, he’s always a good listen.

I just don’t like his face.
