I'm sorry, but ChiSox, Chi-town are b.s. terms no one from the city above the age of 40 should ever utter. Hell, my skin crawls when I hear someone says "the Chi".

Kind of like the mythical "Chicagoland". But I'm old.

I don't mind "Chisox," as some of the old-timers used to use that term (and the "BoSox"). Apparently, many people called Chicago "Chi" in the '20s. I've only seen it in books (like The Natural). I remember kind of tripping over the word in Sherwood Anderstein (maybe it was him, maybe Dreiser...someone from back then) the first time I saw it. Seemed unnatural and weird. Before students regularly used their college email addresses, I had a student whose name was kween_of_da_chi. She had another email that was something like TNAgurrrl@lycos.com. I kept deleting them because I figured it was spam, but she was like, "You didn't get an email from TNA girl?"

I'd be ok if they changed the name to Los Calcetines Blancos de Chicago, if it made our Cuban Defector Army more berserker-mode-ey in battle. I think we are going to wreck shop this season. LaRussa is going to be a great fit. Following the first time he gets wasted with the boys in the locker room after a big win they are going to run through a wall for him.

This is the perfect time to get away from the Cubs and jump on the Sox bandwagon; Perfect sports rooting efficiency. Granted, I don’t really like baseball or Sox fandom so I have no interest.

All the gang bangers in L.A. at the time were buying up the silver/black color scheme? I like the current scheme because the logo goes back to their old logo in the 50s. better than some of the shit they had in the past where they had phillies looking red in the 70s and some weird ass blue cub wannabe colors in the 60s.
