Eloy with a catch to end it. It's only spring, but I was more scared than I should have been as he was tracking that one. I wouldn't complain if they keep Vaughn down a month and let Eloy DH so Eaton and Engel can play the corners. Both have looked good early this spring.

They're using someone who is expected to be in their rotation as well today

Still, he hasn't played above A ball. Nothing wrong with letting him get 80-100 AB in Birmingham or Charlotte then bringing him up in May.

Still, he hasn't played above A ball. Nothing wrong with letting him get 80-100 AB in Birmingham or Charlotte then bringing him up in May.

only reason to not have him as opening day DH would be service time. He's ready, play the kid.

He needs to play. Ricky wouldn't get that, I think LaRussa does. If Vaughn is on the Opening Day roster, he has to be in the lineup five out of every six games even if/when he struggles.

Let the record show that I was in favor of having Vaughn up *last* season when Encarnacion was sucking at DH.

Vaughn wouldn't be in Chicago to sit. He would be here as he is the best option for DH, which he is. The Sox had the option of pursuing plenty of cheap DH options in free agency and they didn't because they knew Vaughn was their guy for April 1.

I never wanted Encarnacion in the 1st place. This year, I was on my knees begging not to sign Nelson Cruz.
Vaughn flat out rakes, and he KNOWS he flat out rakes.

They don't need 30 ST games. These guys come into camp in shape. Starting I think on the 14th or 15th its all 9 inning games.

I do think that once an inning starts, it should be completed.
