Robert looking pretty good. Hit one a mile foul and then later in the 8 pitch AB doubled off the wall. |

I've been trying to keep an eye on this game, but the Angels' broadcaster is just so damn dull. |

Eloy with a catch to end it. It's only spring, but I was more scared than I should have been as he was tracking that one. I wouldn't complain if they keep Vaughn down a month and let Eloy DH so Eaton and Engel can play the corners. Both have looked good early this spring. |

4 strike outs for Giolito who ended up working a 2nd inning also gave up 1 home run, but other than that no one else reached base |

2 innings for the Sox line-up and 2 innings where Texas utilizes the mercy rule because their pitcher can't get out of the inning. They're using someone who is expected to be in their rotation as well today |

The Sox pen is stacked, but Birmingham and Charlotte might have some awful bullpens this year. |

If Vaughn is on the Opening Day roster, he has to be in the lineup five out of every six games even if/when he struggles.

Let the record show that I was in favor of having Vaughn up *last* season when Encarnacion was sucking at DH. |

He would be here as he is the best option for DH, which he is. The Sox had the option of pursuing plenty of cheap DH options in free agency and they didn't because they knew Vaughn was their guy for April 1. |

Eloy is without question the Sox best option at DH. Eaton in LF, Robert CF, Engel RF. I too am high on Vaughn, but I won't complain if he spends 3-4 weeks at AA or AAA getting at bats. The Hawk's guy Mercedes has to have the inside track as the backup catcher, yeah? |

Eloy isn't going to move to DH until Abreu retires and Vaughn takes over 1B. |

An aside, I saw Jake Burger played the other day. I expect zero from him at the big league level, but good for him for busting ass and rehabbing yet another injury to get back on the field. |
