when a door closes, a window opens up

When a door closes, Eloy runs into it.

I'm going to look at the positive side of it. This will make Vaughn all the more versatile. Second least important defensive position and Robert can cover everything hit to Vaughn's left. Same instruction as Eloy: put your heels on the warning track and only charge the ball. Timmy covers everything short anyway.

Eloy is proving to be a DH. They'll get no value from him if he keeps injuring himself.

Collins makes the opening day roster with regular ABs if this happens. He has earned a good long look in Chicago.

So the Sox are going to replace Eloy in left with Vaughn in left? Effectively switching out one great rising young hitter who can't field with a great hitting prospect who has no experience playing in the outfield?

Isn't this kind of potentially compounding their mistake?

Let's hope Vaughn doesn't pose as great a danger to himself in the field as Eloy does.

Vaughn has better instincts and knows when to pull up rather than try to make an impossible play.

Vaughn might end up looking like Alex Gordon out there when compared to Eloy.

And now he's your right fielder not just now, but maybe for the next decade.

That sonuvabitch might be able to play second base. I'm only half kidding.

It struck me while watching last night that he is everything Kris Bryant was at the same stage of his career, yet Vaughn doesn't get anywhere near the national hype because he plays for the White Sox rather than a great "legacy franchise" like the Cubs.

I was at the KC games 2 weeks ago and literally did see Vaughn play 2B since it was the day they traded for Cesar Hernandez but he wasn't joining them until the next day. He didn't look bad there.

I like Vaughn. I think he is going to be a lot better than people thought he was going to be. 100% is going to be a thumper in the middle of the order.

When he was drafted, they said his ceiling was somewhere in the middle between Konerko and The Big Hurt. Nothing I have seen this year has made me doubt that.

So I'm coming in on the Edens and and listening to our idiot White Sox and it's wall to wall cars. Vaughn gets on with his promo Listen to us on your home, bla bla. I say, "shut the fuck up you beady eyed bastard". Then I apologize because that was really uncalled for.

His lone highlight was carrying TA off the field like a toddler in Cleveland. It was kind of called for.

My mom owned a cross eyed cat named Calvin that always had that duh look on his face. Vaughn looks like Calvin.
