In 2015, the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum formally petitioned Commissioner Rob Manfred for reinstatement, on grounds that Jackson had "more than served his sentence" in the 95 years since his banishment by Landis. Manfred denied the request after an official review. "The results of this work demonstrate to me that it is not possible now, over 95 years since those events took place and were considered by Commissioner Landis, to be certain enough of the truth to overrule Commissioner Landis' determinations," he wrote.
Manfred is a jackass. Worst ever.
Yeah, he's pretty bad. What an ass**** making that statement. Idiotic commentary on Trout last year, too.

Jackass is being modest. Between him and the Cubbie player that pushed for the exclusion, worst ever.
Supposedly a horse-shit judge, too.
Are you talking about Cap Anson or someone from the 30s/40s? I know the Cubs gave Robinson an especially hard time. It's odd, though, since Veeck and his dad were involved with the team.
I think there's an alternate history novel about an integrated Big Leagues in the '30s...but I'm not sure if it is any good and if I am even imagining it. What a novel that would make.
