Pretty big early season series here, for both clubs.
With the three pitchers the Sox have going, winning at least 2 of 3 is an absolute must if they are going to compete this season.

The Rodon Cy Young train rides again tonight

I don't understand why ESPN's MLB stat page is always messed up and missing random players. Rodon is nowhere to be found on the leaders page.

I think he'll get more than three strikeouts actually.

Vaughn's on the cusp. Good righty and he's seeing it well.

Be nice if Vaughn wasn't yanked so he could get another AB instead of Mr .116 worthless stick legs continuing to embarrass himself at home plate.

I'm fine bunting Leury. If he swung it's a slow roller double play from him.

Yup. Productive out from an unproductive hitter. That is, if you believe in productive outs.

Rick needs to take Billy Hamilton away from Tony. Somehow TLR doesn't know that Hamilton is unable to hit a baseball.

Tony doesn't look at stats. He goes strictly with his gut now a days.

Using him as a defensive replacement is the one smart thing TLR does

It truly is embarrassing. He looks like some random dude at a batting cage.

Not that early in a 3-0 game. Vaughn hasn't even been bad in LF. The Royals scoring some runs is more likely than Hamilton having to make a spectacular play that Vaughn would miss.

Vaughn has 2 hits and would have been up with 2 men on. Instead automatic out Hamilton was up.

Not when it takes an AB away. It's early, it's LF, and Vaughn has proved he's fine with arguably the easiest position on the field.

Time for our middle of the road reliever to try and get a save.

I don't like to rip a guy who throws 97, but there's no late life on it. It's just downhill straight.

Rodon is 5-0, Kopech has 1.33 ERA and Mercedes is hitting .380. So...NO, this has nothing to do with Tony LaRussa

that has everything to do w/ TLR. Rodon was pure shit before TLR . Who had the balls to call up Mercedes? TLR.

the manger gets all the credit or all the blame. so right now great job by TLR
