After coming out with a 2-0 lead, the Tribe has given up 6 unanswered and is losing 6-2 going into the 6th. |

I'd let it play out a lot more before scoreboard watching. As has been said, I don't think the racial slurs will be within 5 games of the Sox in the end |

Talking about the Sox roster is like talking about covid. "Just wait 2 weeks!" |

The Sox need bullpen arms more than starters. |

The days of Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz are gone, and there aren't enough teams outside the NL East who are chasing. The Cardinals and Giants could desperately use him, but what do they have to offer that is better? Maybe the A's take a run at him, but they are cheapskates. The Cubs have nothing to offer besides the aforementioned DSL players and Braylin Marquez who isnt better than Stiever. |

You could be right about the relative value of the prospects that other competitive teams might offer. However, Scherzer is not Darvish. Trading for him at the deadline would be more like the Brewers making a deal for Sabathia at the deadline or the A's making a deal for Lester at the deadline. The Indians got Matt LaPorta (who at the time was a Top 100 prospect) in return for Sabathia and the Red Sox got Yoenis Cespedes (who at the time was considered to be an up and coming player). I would think Washington could pull a Top 100 prospect or some other player who has at least enjoyed some big league success in return for Scherzer. |

If Tampa wasn't Tampa, Washington might be able to pry Vidal Brujan away in a exchange for Scherzer. That might have been enough to get Toronto to give up Austin Martin, who is what I wanted the Cubs to ask for in exchange for Bryant this past off season. |

Sox starters have the 2nd lowest ERA in MLB. Adding a starter is not the move this team needs to make. Any pitchers added at this point need to be guys who you can give a 7th or 8th inning to. Preferably a guy who isn't a rental either as I don't think Kopech is in the pen next year. |

I doubt there will be anyone as good as Crochet or a right Bummer out there. Someone to take at bats away from Mendick and Garicia would be great. |

Cleveland lost and the Sox are back up 5. Right where we were before we had a bad week and a half Now the Sox get some easier teams while Cleveland enters a tough stretch with some pieces missing in the rotation. |

An 8 game lead that will be 10 by the all-star break. Don't need to worry about the scoreboard by August. |

Will be tough to hit ten unless the Indians get swept by the Royals. Either way the division hasn't really been much of a worry all season. As long as the White Sox rotation keeps it up there's no way they get caught by someone like the Indians or Tigers. The Twins might catch fire in the second half but they are too far out of it at this point. |

The Indians are in free fall, and the Sox get to beat up on the Orioles. I bet the Sox sweep. |

I'm going to be in Baltimore on Friday & Saturday and I didn't realize the games were away. Hmm. I wonder if I can talk the family into a side trip. |

They have some tough series in August and will still look like a mash unit til month end. If they somehow survive the month without a serious run from Cleveland, Jerry should give TLR a lifetime contract. |

Once Lucas Giolito and Dylan Cease get themselves back on track they wont need much offense to win games. Micheal Kopech is back and they have got Adam Engel and Billy Hamilton roaming the outfield as pretty high tier defenders. The Sox are still scoring enough runs to win the vast majority of games their pitchers keep close. All they need is more pitchers keeping the games close and they'll get back on a run. |

Cleveland was no hit in the second game of the doubleheader. Sox magic number is 71. |
