A little earlier for a game thread. My wife however just presented me with our awesome tickets for the Wednesday afternoon game here. 8)

Let's hope for a beatdown of this sorry ass team. Giolito in the bump vs LHP Tyler Anderson. I really hope they start Grandal at C. We can't afford to have Collins batting against a lefty with no DH.

Have fun, Mike!

And yeah, two wins here becomes a must after the shitshow this past weekend.

Can someone please get Herm Schneider out of retirement? This entire team is dropping to the DL with hamstring injuries.

I'm thinking maybe guys should run sprints besides just to 1st base on gamedays. A little less weight room perhaps. I dunno. I never blew a hamstring in my life. So this shit baffles me. It just seems to me if you are in running shape, your hamstring would go, "Oh, we're doing this again. OK let's go"

How many guys have been injured running? Engel, Robert, Madrigal at least. And we lost Hamilton to a swing. Eloy has a terrible injury every year on a play that looks innocent.

Expecting professional athletes to be able to run and not get hurt isnt on the trainer.

Hamilton and Kopech are not close to returning.

With this many soft tissue injuries, its time for the training staff to start taking heat. These things aren't entirely their fault, but there definitely is something going on here.

Stone was trying to make it sound like a league wide problem last week.

I doubt the training staff is doing anything worse than other MLB teams, but the number of injuries on routine plays has been astonishing. I've never seen anything quit like it. Down five outfielders. Madrigal out for the year. Moncada doesn't look right. Kopech is a strange situation. I thought he was out on bereavement. Now he's hurt because he threw a pitch and didn't followthrough properly.

Once again, Collins is playing instead of Grandal against a lefty. Collins is worthless against lefties. If Giolito is so soft that he can't pitch to somebody other than his catcher, he isn't worth big bucks. If this is Tony's decision, well that is further proof that he needs his brain examined.

yea Stone has been beating that drum for awhile now, that it's all due to the wacky schedule last year

All these injuries, and the team is 1 win away from best record in the AL. It's some bizzarro world. Jesus, look at that lineup........

Post subject:  Re: Sox at Buccos

The top 5 of that lineup is fine IMO. But yeah this is some craziness so far this season.

Post subject:  Re: Sox at Buccos

Moncada acts like he's hurt or exhausted any time he has to run more than 5 feet at a time. I noticed that Robert was doing the same before he actually got hurt. No idea if this is a training / conditioning issue or if these guys don't give a fuck and don't want to put forth the effort.

I think the guys IN the lineup say, Jesus, look at that lineup.

I can't help but think we're in for some rough times.

Giolito dislikes throwing to Grandal. It was clearly the case last year, and it continues this year.

Sorry, but he isn't good enough to demand a personal catcher. For the money he is looking for, he should use whatever catcher the team tells him to use. Grandal is a great bat at catcher and is needed in the lineup with all these injuries, especially against a lefty. Collins can play tomorrow against the RHP.

Grandal has 25 hits this season.

I know, OPS whatever, but thats fewer hits than Jason Heyward. Grandal was brought in here to bring power to the lineup, not look for walks. And he is among the league leaders in passed balls and catcher's interferences.

Grandal is 2nd on the team in homeruns. 6th in the MLB at the catcher position. He is hitting for power. He also did get brought here to take walks.

Collins on the other hand is dogshit, especially against lefties.

I've been thinking about how neither of Jerry's teams had this kinds of problems in the late eighties early nineties, and yeah it makes you wonder.

Frank sides pretty good to me.
