Just gonna leave this here.

I heard the target is a college arm with the ability to throw 100mph.

I'm just glad to be able to trust the front office with the pick.

EIU has a guy projected to go in the first round. That is surprising.

Good thing we are not the Pirates. That is a good pick, but not a great one.

If baseball was like basketball and Football these draft would look so much different. There would be no under or over slot signings.

I'm just waiting to see where Cam Collier and some of the ACE kids go.

No way he was falling that far.

  at his college coach comparing him to Bob Gibson.

This thread will pale in comparison to the STUD-world series thread

That was odd.

If Kevin Kopps is available at 22, the Sox have to take him. I saw him pitch multiple times in person this year. Kid can deal and may fall to us simply because he is 24. If the Sox drafted him, he would be the type of guy who could come in this very year as Crochet did last year.

I really don't understand what the Royals were thinking at 7 with the high school kid from Connecticut. I have to think he would have still been available with their second pick. They must be planning on saving money and going overslot for some guys in the later rounds.

Don't mind that since they need relief help.

draft guides listed him as a likely 3rd baseman even though he played short.

I hope he sticks at SS, but with his size it screams 3B.

Can we conclude that KW sucked at drafting players?

It seemed like just about all of his 1st round picks (except for Sale) missed. I guess Gio had a good career as well, but it wasn't for us.

The turnaround in drafting and developing these guys started with Hahn.

Hahn’s record looks nuts relative to the Williams regime. Crochet, Vaughn, Madrigal, Anderson, Rodon…

To be fair, he was drafting a lot higher because they were so shitty.

It was an awful draft record for over a decade. Hahn changed the approach and drafted for skills after years of Kenny Williams drafting the best athlete he could find with little regard to the fact that baseball is more of a skill game than an athletic one.

Nah, people were appalled by the Rick Hahn drafts. It was a non-stop bone of contention for years, reaching its nadir after the Jake Burger achilles injury. As if the White Sox could've possibly known Jake Burger would miss three seasons to freak injuries. Even then, it was only a few months ago you could find MANY who would say the Sox draft history was a "fireable offense".

But now its all hunky dory because Carlos Rodon is light-favorite for the AL Cy Young and here's Jake Burger, Gavin Sheets and Zack Collins contributing to a first place team. It has gone from abysmal to outstanding in less than two-hundred days.

What are the odds that the A’s would draft another player named Max Muncy, who is no relation to the one they drafted in 2012, yet has the same birthday?
