4 game set vs the Royals with the return of Eloy, a full month or 2 ahead of his original schedule. I'm going to the K on Thursday to watch Eloy slug the crap out of the Royals. Last time I was at the K, I saw Eloy launch one 471 ft over the fountain. |

Starters go 7. Closer goes 2. |

I wonder what the roster move is to get Eloy back. Sheets or Burger might be going back down, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because they need regular playing time IMO. |

Yup. Quote: 07/26/21 Chicago White Sox optioned 3B Jake Burger to Charlotte Knights. 07/26/21 Chicago White Sox activated LF Eloy Jimenez. Also from WhiteSox.com; Quote: There’s more help on the way, too. Catcher Yasmani Grandal is progressing faster than expected after undergoing left knee surgery and outfielder Luis Robert is doing well on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from a right hip flexor injury that’s sidelined him since May.
Getting all three back in time for the stretch run would go a long way to bolstering Chicago's hopes for a deep postseason run. “You see a lot of teams making moves [at the Trade Deadline],” Grandal said. “But [getting guys back] is kind of like our Trade Deadline, because you get two big bats back in Eloy and Robert. Guys who can play defense. “The team is going to be full now, so hopefully those guys get hot at the right time, because those guys can really carry a team through the end of the season and into the postseason.” |

I get that Burger is not the caliber of player that Jimenez is but it does ache a little to send down a guy who can play for defense to bring up a guy who cant. Still I'm glad to see him. The rest of the regular season is really about getting ready for the playoffs. Barring a complete collapse in the starting pitching there aren't many avenues for Cleveland to make up a nine game disadvantage. |

Eloy is there to rake, not play defense. Hopefully they DH him most of the time, and have him play deep ala Carlos Lee if he ever gets in LF again. Burger needs regular playing time IMO and he isn't likely to get that with the big club right now. |

I’m not sure how highly rated the package for Frazier was, but that would have been a nice addition. I would bet Merrifield and Duffy are traded during this series, which will make it even easier. |

It would be like trading Burger or Sheets, and I am not parting with those guys for Adam Frazier. |

So now Leury is basically backing up second, short, and third? They're flush with outfielder types right now, I would have liked to see a roster move in that area of the field. |

I think the Sox really pour it on over these last 63 games and win over 100. |

Eloy DH batting cleanup. I say he is anxious and strikes out on three pitches during his first time up, but then hits an RBI double in his second at bat. |

I think everyone is expecting Vaughn-Robert-Engel in the outfield but what if they went Vaughn-Hamilton-Robert? |

I'd think you want Engel's bat in the lineup on a regular basis. Hamilton as the occasional starter is fine. Goodwin too. |

It really wasn't that bad of an outing by Keuchel. He kept the basepaths relatively clear, didn't issue a walk until the end and the first two times through the order only Soler gave him problems. Sox should win this game if the offense is functional. |

Keuchel has a 5+ ERA in July. Not good. Sucks, but I don't have an issue with Engel running there. |
