Wow.

Madrigal being hurt is a huge question mark, but he really looked like a player before he ripped up his hamstring.

Not a trade I would make. Madrigal, man, that’s a lot.

I like it. Could of been worse. Kimbrel has another year left.

Agree, Dr. If the Sox win it all this year, I don't care if Nicky Two Strikes ends up in the HOF.

He's rehabbing a torn hamstring. Obviously its a giant question mark. If he comes back to form, yeah could be a bad trade for the Sox. If he doesn't, then the Sox gave up a middling reliever for a pretty good closer.

Both sides are rolling the dice on this. And I think it is the right move for both teams. The Sox absolutely should go all in on winning this year.

If the Cubs got a couple prospects in the minors they would be rolling the dice, at least with this the guy has shown even in a small sample size that he can hit at the MLB level.

Do you think any Cubs fan regrets them trading for Chapman and what they gave up?

I know they didn't intend it but it makes yesterday's trade contextual. Hernandez has a fairly low option for next year and he will be their starting 2b.

I agree with you in within your context.

Playoff games are not six innings, with Kopech, Kimbrell and Hendriks taking it from there. That doesn't even account for Tepera and Crochet.

Not much of a dice roll for the Cubs. Kind of a no brainer

Yeah, the dumbfuck ones. I know this implies that there are smart Cubs fans, but they won it all and Chapman was a big part of that. You have to give something to get something.

Good trade, Madrigal became expendable the minute the Sox got a better 2B yesterday who is signed through next year.

Hernandez is better than Madrigal straight up so I'm perfectly fine with trading him and Heuer didn't do the job this year.

Hahn is taking advantage of the Kim Foxx crime wave and just robbing the Cubs blind

Midget was fun because he put the bat on the ball. But if Kimbrel is indeed right, and I mean, RIGHT, the trade is good.

Is he right?

Closers struggle when they aren't closing. There is no need to potentially ruin Hendriks after giving him $19M a year.

I really like Hernandez a lot so I don't have a huge issue with losing Madrigal.

If we didn't have Hernandez next year, my opinion on this trade is different, but since we have him, Midget had to go.

Great trade. Opportunity to win is this year with the pitching staff as is, plus you can have Kimbrel and Hernandez next year as well.

He's shown recent cracks, but mostly great.

Madrigal has hit from day one just about, but he's also played poor defense at times and runs the bases like a little leaguer.

He was getting better in the field and on the bases prior to his injury

He was getting better in the field, but still bad on the bases. Not quite as egregious as last year, but bad. Remember, his poor defense probably cost them game 2 in Oakland last year and a trip to the ALDS.

I like Nicky Two Strikes and wish him luck. But Kimbrel immediately improves the bullpen and the Sox have Hernandez at 2B for next year.

That's the only reason I'm not furious. Madrigal has to hit over .300 to have any value, probably closer to .320. If he loses just a quarter step that hurts him a lot.

About a month before the injury, it seemed to me the light bulb went on in just about all phases. He was even hitting with a bit of power.

Even so, it's a no brainer trade if Kimbrel is Kimbrel.

Larussa loves to run Hendriks out there for two inning saves. This allows him to do so with confidence

You have to admit, trading FOR a guy that's out for the season with a hammy is what you would expect the White Sox to do
