I knew it was coming. Good. He should lay out these players. "Waste of talent". Those were Ozzie's words. He's right. They shouldn't be this bad. The offense is horrible. Iguchi fails to get a bunt down. They can't hit mediocre pitching. Bullpen sucks.

It's the players fault. Maybe this wasn't a World Series team. But they were good enough to be in this division/wild card race into September and then maybe battle their way in at that point.

I agree, this is completely the fault of the players and Ozzie should not feel otherwise. He made mention a few times during his press conference that "I'm not doing my job" or whatever, but you have to play the game with the cards you've been dealt. I felt the same way with Dusty Baker and the extreme lack of talent on those Cub teams during his stint as manager.

Granted, on paper the Sox shoudl have one of the best hitting teams in the Majors. We all knew this; this is nothing new. It is when these players repeatedly fail to produce that the manager comes under fire... which is simply very unfortunate in this case.

Ozzie is in a tough situation. He basically has no choice but to go to the bullpen, and outside of Jenks, and sometimes Boone Logan, there is nobody who can get outs on a consistent basis. If it's a close game, and the bullpen is brought in, they just don't have much of a chance to win the game.

I haven't even said anything about the lineup yet either.
