We’ll always have Iowa.

"The Team Was Better As Injured Overachievers"

that's what I thought too.

This team has trouble sweeping bad teams or winning road series against bad teams.

I have no faith.

I have hope that come the last two weeks, everybody that counts is in the lineup. Then we'll see about the faith.

We have a lot of guys who can singlehandedly either blow a playoff game or win a playoff game. Grandal could get the catching yips. Moncada with his erratic arm and bat. The bullpen is a lottery of who and which day they suck or are great. Jiminez in Left. The 2nd baseman going 0-21. Lynn's spin rate post-sticky stuff.

It just seems that shit that can go wrong, seems to, against the teams that you have to beat in the playoffs. It's a season long trend.

The bullpen hasn't inspired confidence all year and I don't see that changing down the stretch. The hitting is better, but I don't think they're going to be able to slug their way to the World Series. They really need the starting pitching to get back on track. I've seen that group dominate this year, so I have at least some faith they can do it again. If they can, they can make a deep playoff run despite their other problems.

Why did they deal Heuer so easily? I thought he was their best bullpen arm. Cubs were smart to pick him up and not Crochet.

Some guys don't know how to pitch when the games really matter. Heuer was one of them.

I think we need to remember how bad the 2005 team looked through parts of August and September. They went wire to wire and 11-1 in the postseason so we forget about that 6 week stretch where they nearly blew the lead against Cleveland.

Some of those weeks were so bad that I was less than confident as we were prepping to play Boston in the ALDS. That lack of confidence quickly evaporated as the Sox pounded the hell out of Boston in those first few innings.
