Prior to Monday's series opener at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of two-time All-Star right-handed pitcher Johnny Cueto from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned infielder Danny Mendick to Charlotte. Cueto will start Monday's game at Kauffman Stadium.

Cueto, 36, is 0-1 with a 5.17 ERA (9 ER/15.2 IP) and 17 strikeouts in four starts with Charlotte after signing with Chicago as a Minor League free agent on April 8. He will wear uniform No. 47.

The White Sox 40-man roster increases to 40. Third-base coach Joe McEwing will switch to uniform No. 99.

not a big sox fan, but i am tonight. game is a pick, royals coming off a great hitting series (for them) away to the rockies. go up and down the royals' line-up, not one bat scares me...sox got to get rolling with the bats.

Grandal can't catch when it counts. Many times I've seen it with him.

Why they pitch w that base open? when it went 2-0 and 3-0 just walk him. Bit them in the ass.

Grandal can't catch a ball on a play to the plate. It has to have happened at least half a dozen times in the past year on easy outs. Still, it wouldn't have mattered as the next guy singled tie the game.

Graveman has warned the Sox about overuse.

Prior to yesterday, Graveman had thrown 3 inning since May 10th, and he wasn't used Sunday. Your supposed lock down 8th inning guy cant allow the first two bags to reach base in the eighth inning.

My phone still autocorrects to "Socks" even though I've had it for like 3 years.

Let's just hope Tony doesn't put the punt lineup out there for one of these double headers. I get it, four games in 72 hours, but still you can't sit all of your best guys at once.
