If the Sox do not turn things around and start playing better baseball then they are in a real tough situation at the trade deadline. There are not a lot of trade chips on this roster that would get much from teams.

Who would the Sox be able to trade?

Hendricks?

Graveman?

Bummer?

Pollock?

Abreu?

I'd be hoping Moncada and/or Grandal could put a couple good months together and look to move them if they did.

I would think the White Sox were the last of the sucker teams in regards to Grandal. The "good" at catching because of framing is definitely over. That analytic was quite silly. Looking for walks always catches up with the hitter. He's forced to swing at pitches he doesn't want to swing at. Let's be clear about Grandal. He is not a selective hitter. He is a walker and an occasional right down the pipe hitter. And always was.

Maybe the Texas Rangers would want him.

Why is this creature allowed to be a deranged stalker here? His entire existence is to threaten and demean.

"Who's looking out for you," bigot?

He will say MANY things here, "feel free to release the PMs" will never be one of them however. Book it!

I'm fully on board with this.

My questioning of his mental toughness two years ago has proven to be prophetic.

Someone will give up a great prospect for him. Let's go.

The Sox aren't going to waive a white flag or trade Abreu.

They need absolutely every player that is currently on their roster. Trading for a prospect makes absolutely no sense. As bad as they're hitting, I also think trading pitching for offense makes little sense. If their primary offensive weapons don't come around, one extra position player is probably not going to make a ton of difference.

They're gonna need to beat the division to do that. They're 7-12 last I saw.

They're not winning against them. You're gonna have a hard time winning the division if your don't beat them. I'll give you its early in the season still. But the trend isn't great.

If they are not in it, they need to unload Jose. He can not be back with the team next year. They have too many 1B.

In what way is this a troll job? This is a legitimate issue. Now they may turn things around in the next month or so and get rolling and be in a position to add to the team. But it does not look likely at this point.

But maybe things will change.

What won't change is you are an idiot.

You are a butt hurt loser who can't stand that the White Sox are better than the Cubs. So you decided to start a fire sale thread to troll. Just admit it instead of being a bitch.

You were so pissed that the Sox started hot in 2016 that you stalked me across the board for more than a year over an innocuous comment. But this is totally on the level. They are going to trade everyone because the Twins are so intimidating. Sure.

 you remain a delusional piece of crap.

I never said they were going to trade everyone.

But if they continue on this pace they are going to have some decisions to make. If you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend this is some troll job then have at it. I don't really care.

Of course, you care. You care so much that you will bring this up for years. The pace picked up as soon as you posted this troll thread. Taking a series in Tampa was fun.

I'd say Sheets and the ability (maybe not willingness) to take on payroll during their run to the division championship. The kind of player they need has been coming cheaply at the trade deadline lately.

They have 2+ years still of reasonable salaries with him. He's not everything I think he could be but he well outearns his contract. I still think he is a guy I'd like to see them lock up long term but I think he really wants to be on the west coast looking to network towards his next career.

Traden him for what? Do we really want to see Lopez back in the rotation?

I'm not trading him, Seacrest was. I still think the Sox are a playoff team and Giolito is a potential game 1 starter.

They could look to trade him in the off season. He'd bring in a great haul.

Post subject:  Re: Trade chips

I'm not saying you are. I just don't know what they could get for him that would help this season. And kicking the can for prospects isn't a plan. They did that for years already. The division is very winnable. And if you are in the playoffs it's a total crapshoot. They have won series on the road against the Rays and Yankees.

The bullpen seems to have settled in, which is what playoff baseball has become. Just have to hope that the injured guys come back and hit. And that Grandal turns it around. Yesterday was a good sign.
