Jerry won't open the nest egg. Check your nest option

I think he can opt out, he is playing for another contract.

You are correct.

I just read he is thinking of going to the Cubs.

Please, NO.

As a Cubs fan, I have mixed feelings. Yes, he is a legit ace. But this has been his first full season. He has been hurt a lot more than I would ever want a guy I am considering giving a long term deal, to be hurt. Not a lot of aces become available though. Tough choice.

His health still really worries me. I would not want to give him a long term deal. 2-3 years with higher year money would be ok. But nothing over 3 years IMO.

I agree. But there is a fairly good likelihood some team comes up with a 5 year deal and he goes wherever the biggest deal lands him.

I care, because a bad contract can hamper a team down the road. You know.....like Heyward's did for a few years....

Boras is his agent, so he will be taking any short term offer and shopping it as the baseline of a long term. He's also going to have player option opt outs after 3 years so that a team is stuck with him if he sucks but he will leave them if he is good.

If I were going to try to recycle an old Sox pitcher I'd try Sale. You may get a discount on him due to his antics.

You drunk already this morning? You say Abreu and Anderson aren't team leaders and they Sox can't go anywhere with them, yet you want them to bring back Sale? Yeesh.

I said to friends that this would never happen with Rodon.

Now I don't know what to expect.

Now that I know that he had an opt out all along, I'm sure we would have the division sewn up by now if the Sox had kept him.

It’s a distinct possibility that the Sox training staff sucks.

Stone on the Score this morning said that this was a concern to him all along because of the shortened spring training.

If I’m understanding the point correctly, it seems like he’s assuming professional athletes need direct supervision to get in shape.

He wasn't that specific.

But Robert and Jimenez seem to need a direct leader in order to get the best out of them.

Nothing drives me as mad as all of the soft tissue injuries and sprains. Do they not do any dynamic stretching and flexibility training?

The entire training staff has to go. Along with LaRussa.

Now.

Jimenez has had legit injuries. Torn muscles and lost limbs and whatnot. The guy still battles back and plays at a high level. He must get his work ethic from Pito.

Moncada and Robert can't play through a hangnail.

I agree.

I'm tired of watching Jimenez jog around the bases for fear of pulling a muscle.

It's insane.

It's high time to bring back Herm "Front Butt" Schneider.

Herm Schneider retired in 2019, so yes...I would call the White Sox injury problems and Herm's retirement / departure a correlation.

They've quietly had some real issues with that role since Herm retired. 2 people have been in charge and it's not going well.
