four with the Astros and three with the Guardians

have a good week and they may find themselves in first place in the division or one of the wild card leaders

have a bad week and this should be an unofficial end to the season

I expect Jim Morrison to sing

If the team follows suit, they will go 4-3 or 3-4, giving no closure to their fans either way.

Indians get Detroit, Sox get Astros. Treading water this first series wouldn't be terrible. But if they drop more than one to Cleveland, that's it.

White Sox need to go 7-4 in the next 11 (4 vs. Houston, 1 @KC, 3 @ Baltimore, 3 @ Cleveland). They need to take 2 of 3 from Cleveland at a minimum, but if this Houston series doesn't go well, they could be 5 games out by this weekend.

Only 1 of the Astros 2 runs is unearned. Way to limit the damage.

Oakland just released Elvis Andrus. Average to slightly below average bat, still a great glove. Sign him, IL Leury, and send Sosa back to AAA.

Elvis Andrus would be better then Lenyn Sosa now that he's been released.

Much better glove, and a little bit of power to go with it.

Seems like a no-brainer pickup. Even having a down year, he's still better than what the Sox can throw out at SS right now.

You would think, especially because JERRY can pay the pro-rated league minimum for SS defense that is better than Anderson and offense that is better than anything on the roster currently.

He stinks but just not as bad as Sosa. I guess they figure they only have 3-4 weeks to kill.

I think I would have taken a split against the Astros if you talked to me Monday morning

Obviously the weekend against the guardians is big. Have to win the series.

Take away the peaks and valleys....there's enough body of work that shows this nothing more than a .500 team. Stop doing this to yourselves.

This who they have been since the 2nd half of last season. The individual parts look good, but, as a team, this team is likely now to play a season and a half of roughly .500 ball.

Changes are needed.

2-3 heading into the last two in Cleveland. If they split the remaining two, they are still close enough, but they really need these last two very badly to stay very close and also keep my 7-4 hopes alive.

3-3 in this stretch, playing about as they have the entire season. Can the White Sox win 4 of 5 to finish this stretch? Seems unlikely given they seem to struggle to score more than 2-3 runs a game.

Almost every player has an entire area of skills (defense, baserunning, inability to make contact, inability to hit with two outs, etc.) that is (or seems to be) below replacement level.

It's like they're all platoon players, players with half a game.

of course they go 3-3, the story of their season

Orioles series during the week is against a team with whom they are battling for a wild card position so I added on some time

Pound the Royals like a chicken piccata and then overtake the Orioles.

Big game today...Astro's for 4 coming up, Guardians and Orioles (plus 1 game with the always tough Royals) all coming up. You would think, 7-4 is needed in this stretch, including 2 of 3 from Cleveland. Split the 4 games with Houston, take 2 of 3 with Cleveland and 2 of 3 from Baltimore along with beating KC.

That may be too much to ask from a team that is basically a .500 team though. 5-6 or 6-5 is probably more realistic.

Yes, 7-4 is needed, but they will go 3-8. Including being swept by Houston. You can print that.

With the rainout in Cleveland, I have to revise my prediction down to 3-7. So far I'm on track.

You guys are only 3 games back? Jesus, with all the moaning around here, I thought you were buried.

There are 5 weeks to go. Grow a pair. They'll win that division. That division sucks.

You must not watch a lot of White Sox games. For that I commend you. But try and catch a few innings here and there. Try to root for them, or at least pretend you want them to win. I guarantee you will never see a more frustrating and stupid baseball team in all your life.

And I say this knowing you have seen hundreds if not thousands of terrible Cubs games over the years.

Playoffs in 2020, Division Title in 2021. This year they were supposed to take a step forward in October. The bar was raised, and they will fall woefully short.

Life's too short. This isn't a 120 IQ son getting Ds and always is in the principal's office. It's a silly baseball team. I need to be shown the courtesy of personal choice as I cut this franchise from the jugular to the scrotum.
