This was an obvious move with TA out.

He's a better defender and better teammate than Jacquie too.

He has a $15 million option that pops if he gets 550 PAs this season. He's 164 short of that right now. I don't know how that works given he's been cut/traded and now with another team.

Oh.
Quote:
The option should now be a moot point, as Andrus has been released from that contract and will be signing a new pact with whichever team he ultimately chooses — be it the ChiSox or another potential suitor. The Sox and any other club need only pay Andrus the prorated league minimum for any time spent on the Major League roster. That sum would be subtracted from what the A’s still owe him, but Oakland is on the hook for the vast majority of the remainder of this season’s $14MM salary. Andrus will again be a free agent at the end of the season.

White Sox fans are as dumb as cub fans. People on social.media acting like getting a below average player from a crap team is a game changer.

I don't look at it like they just signed best SS in the league. However, when you look at the dumpster fire of choices they have at SS right now, and being in a division that will likely come down to a game or 2, he could be a "game changer" for this particular team.

It might be a game changer given the alternative is Sosa.

Game Changer?

Post subject:  Re: Elvis Andrus

Andrus is better offensively than anything the Sox can currently put out there at SS, as well possibly 2B and 3B.
Andrus on his worst defensive day is still better than Tim Anderson with the glove.

Caller Bob must be the login to be a fucking genius. whitesoxfanfrank must be the login to be the dumbest motherfucker on Earth.

It's a good signing to fill in the gaps ...but to call it "game changing" is why no one takes this lunatic fanbase seriously.

Romi Gonzalez. 2 on 2 out just now, strikes out. Bottom of the 9th yesterday, strikes out.

Andrus in one of those situations is more likely to come thru with at least putting the ball in play, which is a potential game changer.

Fucking genius.

I'm sure you are eagerly awaiting your game changing Elvis Andrus as much as you are awaiting that road trip for the 5th COVID vaccine. Good luck!

Then slide him over to 2B to get Harrison out of the line-up when TA comes back.

Author:  This Ends in Antioch [ Thu Aug 18, 2022 2:09 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Elvis Andrus

Harrison has been pretty good since the break. Either way, gives them some options that ought to be better than relying on Leury, Sosa and Gonzalez.

can't rely on Sosa or Gonzalez in the last month of the season with the division on the line

and he's here in time for Elvis night

You can’t have 2 starters with plus 5 ERA’s and be in it .

Some of the same internet white Sox nerds, some of whom guest on WSCR were trashing LaRussa for not playing Sosa regularly now think Andrus is a game changer.

Is Sosa a legitimate prospect or is he just an average one at best?

Andrus is probably better than the alternatives while Anderson is out.

Sosa is organizational depth, nothing more. If he plays his cards right he'll be a utility infielder.

He aspires to be Leury Garcia some day if everything breaks the right way.

They look for any reason to criticize LaRussa.
