Rare day game at Safeco.

3:40 PM local time, 5:40 Chicago time.

Sox embark on a tough 7 game trip. They rarely win @ SEA and @ OAK.

Mariners have done the Sox a HUGE favor the last 2 weeks, going 6-1 vs CLE. Conventional wisdom would say the Sox would knock 'em back down a bit and win 2 out of 3 here. But I just dont see it. I dont think the Sox can hit enough at Safeco. In fact, I dont see 'em winning a fuckin game.

Strange thing: Sox are FAVORED today -120 with Lance Lynn on the mound. This makes no fucking sense. But it could be one of those "Vegas knows what's up" kinda games. Hard to believe the Sox were favored on the road @BAL & @ SEA, 2 solid contendin' teams.

part of it is that the Mariners were in a rain delayed game and didn't land back on the west coast until nearly 3 am...add in a rare day game, Sox will have every opportunity here

Keep playing a bunch of 1B in the outfield. What could go wrong….

Nice to see the Sox take my advice and sign Elvis.

Also good to see AJ Pollock finally decide to start playing. Better late then never I guess.

Game changing signing. Can you imagine them rolling some combo of Leury, Romy and Harrison out there every day?

I think Old Tony would have been glad to.

Most swings & misses for a Sox pitcher all year?

That’s surprising given the stuff of some of the other guys.

TLR said earlier this year that the organization has told some guys to jog to avoid injury. Really dumb to say - and really dumb to apply that rule to a guy hitting .100 - but I wouldn’t be surprised if that played into it.

I had no idea Jay Clam was still in the league.

Sigh of relief.

I can't believe that Lynn didn't want to pitch the 8th inning.

He was busting his ass mostly on that play, but Grandal is the slowest runner I've ever seen in baseball. You could pull some random motherfucker off the street and they'd almost certainly be faster.

It's real tense because the slider has been in the dirt for about two weeks. He's gotta get that worked out....like now.
