I think he can opt out, he is playing for another contract. |

As a Cubs fan, I have mixed feelings. Yes, he is a legit ace. But this has been his first full season. He has been hurt a lot more than I would ever want a guy I am considering giving a long term deal, to be hurt. Not a lot of aces become available though. Tough choice. |

His health still really worries me. I would not want to give him a long term deal. 2-3 years with higher year money would be ok. But nothing over 3 years IMO. |

But there is a fairly good likelihood some team comes up with a 5 year deal and he goes wherever the biggest deal lands him. |

Boras is his agent, so he will be taking any short term offer and shopping it as the baseline of a long term. He's also going to have player option opt outs after 3 years so that a team is stuck with him if he sucks but he will leave them if he is good. |

If I were going to try to recycle an old Sox pitcher I'd try Sale. You may get a discount on him due to his antics. |

You say Abreu and Anderson aren't team leaders and they Sox can't go anywhere with them, yet you want them to bring back Sale? Yeesh.

It’s a distinct possibility that the Sox training staff sucks. |

But Robert and Jimenez seem to need a direct leader in order to get the best out of them. |

Do they not do any dynamic stretching and flexibility training? The entire training staff has to go. Along with LaRussa. Now. |

Jimenez has had legit injuries. Torn muscles and lost limbs and whatnot. The guy still battles back and plays at a high level. He must get his work ethic from Pito. Moncada and Robert can't play through a hangnail. |

I'm tired of watching Jimenez jog around the bases for fear of pulling a muscle. It's insane. |

It's high time to bring back Herm "Front Butt" Schneider. |
Author: | BigW72 [ Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:57 pm ] |
Post subject: | Re: Carlos Rodon |
Herm Schneider retired in 2019, so yes...I would call the White Sox injury problems and Herm's retirement / departure a correlation. They've quietly had some real issues with that role since Herm retired. 2 people have been in charge and it's not going well. |
