Lot of money for a guy who hit 5 hrs in almost 500 ABs. Have to think it's even money Hendriks is dealt. |

Strange career. The future in Boston, rebirth in Kansas City and on his third team already? Is he a clubhouse cancer? |

Cashman wrote: I don't hate it, but why? If your outfield is Benintendi, Robert, and Colas, that probably should be pretty good both defensively and offensively. Then you've got Jimenez and Sheets who can also play out there. Though Jimenez will probably DH a lot more than anyone else, there has to be at-bats for Grandal if you can get him going. I don't think he should be catching more than a game or so each week. Grandal will probably play a little first and DH a little. |

He will be fine. Gold Glove, won in Boston and an older mature guy. manager knows him from KC. |

Good signing . They have plenty of power , he can catch and should be a decent OPB guy even if he doesnt hit for power . |

There was a joke in the office where Michael orders pizza from a place that shares a name with another pizza place. One of them is good; the other is bad. The good one is understandably more expensive. When the employees show their disappointment that Michael ordered from the cheap place, he says something along the lines of “Would you rather have a small amount of great pizza? Or a lot of ok pizza?” All agreed they’d prefer fewer, better pizzas. That’s how Uncle Jerry has decided to spend the mythical Machado money. |

not doing cartwheels but not bad 5 years for a guy who is 28 (won't be 29 until July) doesn't concern me. Conceivably you have him for his prime years. |

He is more of a traditional leadoff hitter but he doesn't have the speed. His defense is fine in left, but many teams would want that bat profile in center. Still, compared to what they were paying AJ Pollock, this is a good move and Eloy becomes the full time DH. |

Jackie Bradley had a major say in that too. |

The only negatives are he has no power and a noodle arm. But he can play solid defense and will be a quality at bat. |

stlmax wrote: Kenny finally got his guy and Moncada. Jokes on you Boston. I was kind of thinking along the same lines. In that Sale trade, there was some debate over the best plumb to pry from Boston. A lot of people wanted Benintendi. Now they have him. Although, Devers might actually be the best of the bunch. |

I hope this isn't a case of reaching for a guy you couldn't get thrown into the Sale trade. IIRC the Sox really wanted Benintendi. |

Honestly, I'd rather have Benintendi for 5 than Correa for 13. We're still stuck with Grandal behind the plate for at least 81 games. I've read Sox are talking to Toronto about Danny Jansen. |
