Kenny, i killed the white soxs in 07, Williams is trying to make it impossible for mark b to stay here. first mark gives the soxs say a 25 mil home town discount, and now mark is willing to part with a no trade clause if the soxs are willing to put in a clause where if he gets traded a player option of 1 yr 17 mil kicks in and are almighty gm has balked at this now. mark loves this team and its fans as he showed again sat afternoon but its going to be a shame when he leaves...f*ck you kenny. this player is gonna come back to bite your sorry ass |

I really don't understand this. Buehrle should be signed ESPECIALLY given his track record and work this season. This is going to be a very odd season for both sides of town. The best pitcher on both teams will gone by December. Buehrle and Zambrano...could you have a better 1-2 on ANY team in baseball? |

This is typical Reinsdorf. He wants to make the player look like the guy, but Buerhle is making it hard for him. Buerhle should tell KW and JR to iss his ass, because he will make 25mil more on the market then what the WS are offering him. Yes, I am a Cub fan, but if I were a Sox fan, I would feel screwed by JR, the guy continues to lie to the fans and he gets away with it, but at least you have 2005. |

I'm a Cubs fan also, but I agree Kenny and Jerry are really fucking this up. I see why Kenny wouldn't want to put that clause in, but Mark is giving you the huge discount. Plus if you do look to trade him, its going to be a big market team most likely wanting him. Basically I think the clause would be no big deal, the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, or Red Sox would take that clause I'm sure. |

I can't think of any off hand. Maybe you can help me out. |

Only McDowell compares to Buerhle, IMO. Buerhle is more durable, a left hander and has more wins than McDowell at this stage. I see your point, but I think Buerhle is a safer long term bet than any of the those three were. |

Well, it sounds as if Kenny Williams played this one perfectly. He resigned, and the Sox have some flexibility to trade him. Does the original rant still stand? |

"If he hadn't accomplished all the things he has thus far and we didn't have a certain amount of confidence that he will maintain that high level then we wouldn't have entered into this agreement and I would have taken the blow and moved on and gone onto other things and tried to build up differently." -Kenny Williams I like Kenny, but c'mon . . . can you stop being defensive even AFTER you've signed him?? |

There is nothing wrong with what he said. That's how he should be thinking. |

Agreed. It's not as if he could say, "well, Mark had all the leverage here, so we just bent over and took it up the ass." You better stay out of White Sox business, NSJ! |

The "I would have taken the blow" phrase is the one that gets me. I don't think there's anyone who believes that not resigning him would have meant that KW and Jerry would have taken a lot of heat. Why does he have to articulate it the day he signs him. Just drop it and move on. BTW, your avatars continue to impress, Spinnin'. She's been on of my favorite hotties since the day that pic was taken. |

-Kenny Williams I like Kenny, but c'mon . . . can you stop being defensive even AFTER you've signed him?? This was really just another example of KW playing the part of Captian Obvious. I wouldn't take it any other way than Kenny needlessly trying to point out why this deal took as long as it did. I still believe that the signing was inevitible. |
