Perspective is everything, but I’d go: 1) AJ: barely stumbled, cubs ineptitude, Tadahito granny, Sox win 2) TA: most dislikable Sox team in recent history steps all over their own dicks 3) Ventura: guy from California getting smacked around by an old Texan for failing to understand the hierarchy of toughness…early example of FAFO |

I enjoy the “well akshully-ing” of people acting like Robin didn’t lose the thing with Ryan. Was it as bad as it looked for him? Probably not. Did he still look like a punk ass bitch? Absolutely. |

They are all great in their own way. I love the Ventura one because you can visibly see that he regrets the decision as he is making his way to the mound. A genuinely good dude that took a beating for the team. |

Sox Tigers in 2000 was an all time great. Keith Foulke took a cheapshot that busted his eye open. Bill Simas got hit hard too iirc |

Didn’t the Liegue (sp) family take a few head shots from stadium security? |

Everything else is tied for last. |

If you lived in city X and the team from city X dominated the fuck out of the Cubs in a playoff series you’d be posting in game reports. Get off your high horse. |

The best thing about the 2021 Sox playoff run was the thread where you and a bunch of other Sox dipshits were calling for a sweep of the Astros. Talking about how the Sox were doing to skull fuck the Astros, etc. Then the Astros destroyed the Sox and essentially the team has never recovered and is entering another “rebuild”. Maybe the Sox can win more than one playoff game in that rebuild. |

Your reports were a hundred times worse than the Sox ALDS play, which is pretty pathetic. And the Sox have two honest playoff victories in this (failed) rebuild, which is more than you can say about your 2nd/3rd/4th/adopted team. |

Excellent question. The scholarship of FAFO is limited, but… Recent times, it’s the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. Maybe the H man for encouraging Japan’s entanglement with the US. In American history, I think you’d have to point to the Tea Act. Napoleon fucked around a bit too much; he found out. Ancient Greece has some good drama between Pompey (FA’d) and Caesar (FO’d). There’s some religious examples I’m not comfortable mentioning. Maybe the better question is who FsA without FingO. I’d throw Genghis Khan at the top of that list. |

Absolutely. Maybe because Ventura really beat the fuck out of him at the end of the fight. I get that it's a nice narrative that old ass Nolan Ryan beat up some young punk but that isn't really what happened. Ryan gave him nuggies like he was his little sister and at the end Ventura whacked him in the face pretty hard more than once. And the awesome photo of Ventura choking him out doesn't lie. But whatever. The narrative has been established. One thing for sure. Every major league player- probably even some of Ryan's teammates was pulling for Ventura. Ryan was and is a piece of shit. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/ever ... -is-wrong/ |

I don’t think anything matters once 40 people are jumping on top of you. If robin snuck in a punch as they were both being tackled by their teams, it doesn’t really erase getting the old man headlock/noogie combo. One other thing I never really considered…some poor bastard from the Rangers had to deal with Bo Jackson in that mess. |

One other thing I never really considered…some poor bastard from the Rangers had to deal with Bo Jackson in that mess. All those guys weren't helping Ventura. They were trying to tear him off an old man who was desparately trying to avoid getting a beating by using the feminine tactic of a headlock/noogie combination. Once the younger stronger man got loose he choked Ryan to near unconciousness and it took the strength of Bo Jackson to prevent Ryan's imminent death. It's all in the video if you watch beyond the first few seconds. |
