He was supposed to be the fastest guy in the draft, the kind who made every single a double because of stealing bases. He was supposed to be a GG level second baseman from the day he was drafted. It was shocking how none of that was true and evident almost immediately. He cost them games. He also wasn't durable. |

He's been the Cubs best defensive third baseman(low bar) at least up until they traded for Candy Man. He would be even better if he went back to 2nd. Your development program fucking sucks. They probably should have taken India but he hasn't been that great after his rookie year. |

A team that still doesn't have a serviceable MLB catcher 5 years later would have been better off taking Naylor. |

Nico Hoerner would have been a better pick than Madrigal. Madrigal was the safe pick, which is how GM's get fired, except on the South Side. |

Madrigal was one of the worst base runners I can recall on this team (which is saying something) and he sucked on defense. I liked that he never struck out but I didn’t like that 80% of his hits were swinging bunts. |

He’s a 99 OPS+ guy, which makes him almost exactly average. He’s a career 97, so slightly below average, but I’m willing to bump him up. |

Heavily skewed by defense at a non impact defensive position. He's just another grindy, light hitting 2b overrated by fans, at least partially, because of his race. What are his defining traits as a hitter? He doesn't have much power, doesn't get on at a high clip, doesn't hit for average. The best thing he does offensively is steal bases but he isn't someone you fear on the base paths. He's more a guy who takes a base when you aren't paying attention. |

He's like that little shortstop the Sox got in the White Flag trade that everyone was excited about for like five minutes. |

Some Romy and an occasional Mandick with some Elvis sprinkled in. Cesar Hernandez seemed like a good idea in the immediate aftermath of the trade. |

Madrigal is so great that the Cubs had to move him to a new position, then traded for an upgrade to that position. Nicky Two Strikes would have been a great player in old Comiskey. He's a career 3 WAR player who spends almost as much time on the IL as he does on the field. |

This Ends in Antioch wrote: Madrigal was one of the worst base runners I can recall on this team (which is saying something) 100% true. I can make a strong case that his two bonehead plays early in Game 2 in Oakland 2020 cost them that game/series.

He's nothin' and was traded for nothin'. Why we even talking about it? Next on the agenda, Carson Fulmer. |

I don't believe the Subdivision is familiar with infield defense. They haven't seen it in the while. |
