Section 161. Happened in the 3rd inning. Sox didn't tell fans. In the 9th they said the after game concert was cancelled due to technical issues. They never told fans at the game what happened.

They didn't cancel the game? Wow.

Well, Jerry fired Rick and Kenny so now Jerry has to answer for this in front of the media. He won't. He'll just release a statement.

There is two ways to look at this.

1. If you announce there is a shooting at the game you cause a panic. Then a stamped for people trying to get out.

2. If you don't announce it, you have a active shooter on the loose in a stadium. You don't know if it's not going to be a mass shooting. Don't you owe it to everybody to try to get out if possible?

No good solution, but the SOX fucked up. They should have canceled the game and told people to leave.

Latest unsubstantiated rumor is now it was a bullet shot in the air from somewhere that landed in the section and grazed people. Also explaining how a gun (didn’t) got in and why they didn’t make a big deal of it. Seems convenient, but the whole thing is dumb so who knows.

If the Sox were smart and have the money ( both things unlikely) they would partner with the Bears and build a new ballpark on the same land the Bears bought in Arlington Heights. With a baseball team playing there 81 or more ( playoff games) times a year, the proposed hotel, parking lot ,restaurants and casino would make that much more money, It would have to be 2 separate buildings, as the seasons overlap and teams just don't share stadiums as happened many years ago. But it could work really well. I don't believe Jerry and his ownership group has the money for it. But maybe if he sold to someone who has the money, it could work really well.

That possibility was brought up on the Score and immediately shot down. The Bears have been dealing with stadium issues caused by concerts and soccer tearing up their field. No way they allow a baseball to do the same thing in their new home.
